All three goals of the match were scored in the second half. The visiting Sonny G scored first, in the third minute, when Nato Canales made a strong run down the left side in a quick transition play and sent the ball into the box for forward Jonny Bautista to tap it in.

The Dynamo leveled the score in the 11th minute, when midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='375712' first='Eduardo' last='Iglesias'] controlled a punt in the center of the field, pushed the ball forward and delivered a great pass to forward Jesus Munoz, who scored. Munoz scored the game-winning goal eight minutes later in a similar play, this time assisted by [player_tooltip player_id='381786' first='Erik' last='Galaviz'].

Munoz came in after the halftime break and, despite facing opponents two years older, decided the match by scoring two goals for the Dynamo. He played on the right side of their attack and was excellent with his positioning, finding the space to get on the ball inside the box and also facing opponents 1v1 out wide. Munoz showed impressive calm in front of the goal, converting the two opportunities he had with well-placed shots. He circulated in different areas in the final third and drew many fouls, also earning yellow cards for multiple Sonny G players.

Iglesias also came in following the halftime break, and his presence in the center of the field immediately raised the Dynamo's level of play. The midfielder embraced the responsibility of leading the team's offense and did a good job of consistently getting on the ball and making things happen in the attacking half. Iglesias stood out for his passing vision and helped set up many offensive plays for the Dynamo, most notably the team's first goal, in which he fed Munoz with an excellent pass. He also delivered great intensity off the ball and helped his team dominate the center of the field and take full control of the match.

Galaviz was another second-half substitute who made an impact and helped the Dynamo produce a comeback win. The left-footed midfielder split time between the right side and a more central spot and used his intelligence and technical skills to boost his team's offense. Galaviz did a great job of creating space in Sonny G's compact defensive system with his dribbling and demonstrated impressive vision to deliver passes in the final third, assisting Munoz for his second goal. The midfielder also provided great service off set pieces and fired some dangerous shots on goal.

Cuero played the full 90 minutes and was very intense and efficient in midfield for the Dynamo. He covered a lot of ground defensively, won many duels, and was always a challenge for Sonny G's midfielders when they got on the ball. In the first half, when the Dynamo wasn't as effective at creating chances, he was involved in some of them by infiltrating into the penalty box with well-timed runs. Cuero had more of a defensive role in the second half and provided the support for the team's offense to operate and produce the goals the team needed to take the win.

Playing as a left winger, Canales was consistently dangerous for Sonny G. He showed a strong offensive game, creating problems for the Dynamo's backline with his runs on and off the ball out wide, but also thriving when he got the ball deeper and fed teammates up top with long passes. Canales did very well in the play that led to Sonny G's goal, timing his run well to stay onside and releasing the ball to Bautista at the right time. The winger also showed remarkable defensive commitment, tracking outside backs when they pushed forward and working hard to win the ball.

Cuautle played as a right-sided center back for Sonny G and helped his team contain the Dynamo's offense for most of the match. He demonstrated good positioning inside the box and was very quick to get to the ball and win possession. Despite not being very tall, Cuautle also did well in physical duels, keeping opponents away from the penalty box and forcing them back. The defender showed calm and composure on the ball, too, playing a big role in the team's buildup and connecting accurate long passes out of the back.

Nossa did a good job in goal for Sonny G and helped his team keep the Dynamo scoreless for over 55 minutes. A tall goalkeeper, he had no issues getting to shots in the corners, was very agile to get to the ground and was very effective when claiming crosses. Nossa also used his feet well, consistently getting on the ball and moving it accurately and safely out of the back. [player_tooltip player_id='378028' first='Eduardo' last='Luna'], who played the final 15 minutes, also did well and kept his team in the game by delivering some impressive saves.
