She is a top-level midfielder/defender in the class of 2027 in California. Seeing her at a previous evaluation and comparing it to my most recent evaluation seems worlds apart. While previously seen at the high school level, she was a starter and a big part of the Cardinal Newman championship run for the North Coast Division 2 championship. I picked the Cardinals as an underdog with the talent and chemistry to win it all. They delivered at every match as they took down the top 4 ranked teams in the tournament. It was great to evaluate her during her team’s match at the national playoffs. Most recently, seeing her on a new club team ( Davis Legacy ) and playing the midfield position was what really impressed me. Previously, I’ve only seen her as a defender. She seemed to be a natural midfielder as she played box-to-box and created opportunities on offense and made clean tackles on defense. Looking forward to her next ECNL and high school season, as both teams are poised to compete at a high level. Nina is now in California’s top 50 at #43 for the class of 2027.

A top 50 talent from California is headed to Youngstown State in 2027. The Davis Legacy defensive midfielder makes excellent penetrating balls in behind the defense with lovely feel for her teammate’s speed. She will need to improve her first step in order to really thrive at the division level. If she does that a special player is in there as she is so good in possession able to connect and switch play at a high level. Good fit.

I covered her high school match against Dublin in the NCS quarterfinal. She is a teammate of Rendino. In that match, she played solidly on defense. She made hard challenges outside the box and stepped into lanes to stop the speedy forwards, hoping to get into 1v1 challenges with the goalkeeper. She also made some long passes over the top to diagonal runners. Nina also played in Phoenix with her ECNL G09 team. She is currently ranked by Prep Soccer as #38 in CA and #14 as a defender in position.

Khoury is the best player in the rankings who has not been part of the Youth National Team picture. She’s better than players who have been to multiple ID events – both now and based on her projected level. Excellent first touch, smart in her tactical approach, and a competitive pitbull, Khoury has the tools to be a No. 6 at the top level. She does have a preference to look for the big pass when a better percentage connection is available. At this age level, the long pass works against defenders who might not have the tactical intelligence yet. In the future, it’s a harder pass to make but Khoury deserves the benefit because those passes are so effective now. She is also a dominant in aerial duels and does well in keeping possession when winning 50/50 duels.
