Below is a snapshot of some of the players who stood out in girls high school soccer across the region during the fall 2023 season.
Notre Dame came up short of making the independent school final, but Hall played a critical role in leading the team. She’s a great shot stopper and communicator from the back who can often be the difference.
Episcopal Academy capped another dominant season with an independent schools title and they did it throughout the year with Magnotta as their rock in the back. Smooth and technical, Magnotta does so many things well as a center back her influence on a team is felt throughout the team. The confidence she gives her teammates going forward and the rest of the back line is measurable.
Croyle anchored the back line of a team that was as dominant as you will see in high school. A weapon in the air on set pieces and a lock down defender in the back, Croyle and company ended their season the exact way they had set out: with a state championship.

Mackenzie McCready
Mackenzie McCready
McCready capped off an incredible high school career at Shawnee a penalty shootout away from a state title, but she goes down as one of the school’s all-time great players on the pitch with 66 career assists and a couple dozen goals as well.
DeGeorge closed out her high school career with another Philadelphia Catholic League title. As she has throughout her high school career, Ava’s ability to dictate the pace of play and to make in-game adjustments, taking what the defense gives her and still finding ways to be dangerous, has made her effective despite the game plan to stop her.
Kemmerley helped lead Conestoga back to a state final after a dominant regular season. When good things are happening for Conestoga Kemmerley (or her younger sister Kate Kemmerley Kate Kemmerley F Villa Maria Academy | 2026 State PA ) are usually involved. Keira is a ball winner with a high-level IQ and work rate.
Grenda is the type of player attackers love to have on their team because she draws a lot of attention but has skill to work her way out of danger and find teammates in tight spaces. Whether that’s playing a through ball or turning the ball over in the press, Grenda can beat you in multiple ways.
Following high school soccer even in 2023 can be a challenge at times but even on less than great streams Sarah Fisher Sarah Fisher F Upper Perkiomen (PA) | 2024 State PA just jumps out. Though there wasn’t a return back to the final for Upper Perkiomen this year but Fisher broke the program’s goal-scoring record and was an offensive juggernaut. Her record-breaking game came via a hat trick and two assists.
Naomi Nnewihe
Naomi Nnewihe
After two solid seasons contributing to the Ocean City attack, Nnewihe broke out with 28 goals in 2023 in addition reaching double digits in assists and is one of the top players to watch returning next season.
After missing most of last year with an injury, Rivera was back for her final campaign and led Ryan to a second place finish in the Philadelphia Catholic League en route to being selected first-team all-league and all-state.
