Texas HS Girls Teams to Watch: Bridgeland

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school soccer season is quickly approaching in the state of Texas with the first district matches set to take place in early January, when teams from all around the Lone Star State will start their attempts to make it to the UIL State Tournament in April.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Houston area has been particularly strong over the last few years and we'll take the week to look into some teams from this region that look poised to have successful seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Bridgeland</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Bears from Cypress had a historic season in 2023, advancing to the Regional Final after they produced 26 wins, two losses and one tie to win District 16 for a third-straight year. Much of her game is built upon her ability to read the game and anticipate plays, but Martin also uses her physical tools extremely well to win battles in the air or the turf. Hammond is heavily involved in Bridgeland's buildup and keeps the team in a good rhythm with her accurate passing. Benker is very skilled on the ball and can make things happen inside and around the penalty box, but what sets her apart is her mobility. The forward moves extremely well off the ball and is often in good spots to finish chances.
