The defender will now be an anchor to the team's backline and will be tasked with leading their defensive efforts. She's very physical and uses her body extremely well to win plays and shield the ball, but also manages to create space with quick turns. Hammond is heavily involved in Bridgeland's buildup and keeps the team in a good rhythm with her accurate passing. Because of that, she's expected to play closer to goal and be the focal point of the team's offense in 2024. Benker is very skilled on the ball and can make things happen inside and around the penalty box, but what sets her apart is her mobility.
