Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Much of Klein’s offense relied on Knight’s ability to make things happen in transition and she didn’t disappoint, scoring the team’s game-winning goal with a nice finish from inside the penalty box. The sophomore forward was fed with long balls for most of the match and was excellent at getting on the end of them and creating chances, even when defended by multiple Tomball Memorial players. Knight trusted her ability to beat defenders with her pace on some occasions and used her holdup play to keep the ball while her teammates sprinted upfield at other moments of the match. She was very active at the end of the second half and had a couple of other dangerous plays before she scored the game-winning goal.

Knight led Klein’s offense in the tournament, scoring four goals in three matches and helping the Lady Kats finish second in the Cougar Bracket – she was awarded as the team’s MVP. A winger with her club team, she plays more centrally in high school and makes of her pace and her quality on the ball big assets to Klein. Knight was excellent at timing her runs and getting the ball behind the backline to finish – the forward was also very calm in front of the goal, dribbling the goalkeeper to score two of her three goals against Cinco Ranch. The forward didn’t limit her impact to the penalty box, dropping back to create chances and getting on the wings to make plays as well.
