Quick off the line and even quicker to make a decision, Derby is a keeper who likes to take complete control of her area. Her quick reactions also allow her to thrive in 1v1 situations because she does not become paralyzed by the moment. She closes down angles well, and is a fantastic shot stopper. She knows when to come off her line and be aggressive in attacking a corner, and when to stay on her line.

She is considered to be one of the top goalkeeper prospects for the class of 2028.  While previously playing for LA Breakers FC , the now Slammers FC goalkeeper is making her presence known on the national scene.  I was able to evaluate her at the national tournament last summer, and she did not disappoint.  Brooke showed her athleticism by going up strong to knock away or pull down crosses.  She is not afraid to make 1v1 challenges with players trying to make runs into the box.  Her ability to cut off the angled runs was crucial to her team’s successful run in the playoffs.  I really liked how she anticipates well and positions herself to take away shooting angles and lanes. She is one of the best goalkeepers in the 2028 class, and it would be great to see her given a shot at the U.S. youth national team level, as she previously participated in the Cal South ODP tryouts.

Brooke is a fearless goalkeeper who will make the challenge and Keep her team in close matches. She can get to the edge or top of the 18 quickly to shut down runners going to goal. She can make the low diving saves as well as get up high to knock crosses or shots on goal in mid-air. Her athleticism and anticipation are her strengths.
