We've already highlighted some of the players who had strong performances in the matches we got to watch, so now we'll expand it a little bit more, splitting the standouts by division and position. Things didn't start well for her as Challenge allowed three goals in the first half of their opening match against Classics Elite RL 08, but after that, she went five consecutive halves without conceding. In the event, it was easy to see that Crawford continues to get better between the posts, adding a great deal of maturity to her technical skills and improving her decision-making. I watched her in a tie against Albion Hurricanes FC RL 08 in which she was consistently tested and responded well, making clean saves, not taking risks and not giving rebounds up. Johnston also displayed great ability to put the ball back in play with precise throws and was very calm and efficient when she had to use her feet. I watched them in a 3-1 loss to FC Dallas RL NTX 08 White where, despite the loss, she did a fine job. She was put to work a lot during the match and if it wasn't for her, FC Dallas would probably have won by a wider margin. Hagerty displayed solid reflexes and was always well-positioned to make stops, be it in long-distance shots or close-range finishes - she did a great job of getting to shots on the lower corners. I watched her get a clean sheet against NTX Celtic 08G Long South in a very open match, in which their opponents could have scorer if it wasn't for her. Despite not being very tall, McPherson got to every shot fired toward the goal, showing good positioning and explosiveness to make stops. She did a very good job in a 3-1 win over Challenge USC RL 08, making big saves that kept the team in the game. Rydberg is a bit tiny, but makes up for that with quickness of mind and body as she doesn't hesitate with her actions and is very fast to execute them. The goalkeeper was also very talkative, encouraging teammates and making adjustments in the defensive system throughout the match.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
