Lopez was excellent at left back for Sting Black, putting on a great performance on both sides of the ball. She did well defensively in keeping up with NC Courage’s pacey wingers out wide, winning duels and blocking their crosses. Lopez also worked very well on the ball, connecting long passes out of the back and engaging in good combination plays in the attacking half. Lopez was very smart in getting the assist to the team’s first goal, staying open on the wing after a free kick in the center of the field and delivering an accurate low cross that found forward Cynthia Rios Cynthia Rios M/F TX almost between the posts.
