ECNL Girls Texas Conference U16: Three Outside Backs to Watch

<p>The highly competitive ECNL club league kicked off its 2024-2025 season on the weekend of August 24-25, with the first Conference matches taking place around the country and setting the floor for what's going to be ten intense months of soccer.</p>   <p>The Texas Conference has been one of the strongest in the league in the last few years and will continue to be this season as some of the most talented players in the nation represent clubs from the region. </p>   <p>Prep Soccer Texas will be following the action weekly and providing coverage in text, photo and social media posts, giving the talented prospects from the Lone Star State some well-deserved recognition and exposure. We start our coverage featuring some players to watch in the upcoming season. This week, we'll dive deep into the talented U16 age group, and here are some of the most talented outside backs in the pack:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Playing at right back, Pistorius is a key player for her Sting Dallas Royal ECNL 09. An outside back with an extremely well-developed offensive game, she adds a lot in the attacking half, being one of the team's most efficient attacking weapons. Pistorius can hit opponents in a few different ways with her game as, at the same time her runs off the ball and impressive precision when crossing make of her a very dangerous wide player, she can also beat defenders off the dribble and bring the ball inside to finish or shoot. Because of her well-rounded game, she can perform different roles in the field, but is typically used at left back with her team, offering them a solid option to make plays out wide. Maldonado also finishes well and knows her way around the penalty box, dishing out several assists when deployed more centrally. She splits her time on the field between the two outside back spots and never lacks in intensity and determination on the field. Reddick is very well-versed offensively, being very prolific at getting to the end line and hitting the ball with extreme precision, be it to send a cross into the penalty box, to finish from distance, or to take a free kick or corner kick.
