Maldonado had a solid shift with Summer Creek in their 4-0 win over Langham Creek in the Consolation round of the Warrior Bracket. She started the match playing as a right midfielder, but then reversed to her original left back position and was among the team’s most important offensive options. She combined very well with midfielder Chelsea Flowers and frequently got to the end line to send dangerous crosses into the penalty box. Maldonado also did a very good job with her high press, winning possession in the attacking half on several occasions and generating good scoring opportunities for her team.

Maldonado is a versatile and consistent producer for her Challenge SC ECNL 09 team. Because of her well-rounded game, she can perform different roles in the field, but is typically used at left back with her team, offering them a solid option to make plays out wide. Maldonado also finishes well and knows her way around the penalty box, dishing out several assists when deployed more centrally. She’s also very good in dead-ball situations, taking free kicks and corner kicks with tremendous precision.

Maldonado and her Challenge SC 09 team finished ninth in the Texas Conference with a campaign of six wins, six losses and three ties and will compete in the North American Cup this week in Seattle. She’s a technically sound player, who has an excellent all-around game and has the skills to play anywhere on the field. Maldonado, who plays a more advanced role with her high school team Summer Creek, is typically deployed at left back with Challenge and gives them an interesting attacking option out wide. She also works very hard on defense and does a good job in her zone of the field.

A player with the skills to perform at a high level anywhere on the field, Maldonado has been playing more of an offensive role with Summer Creek in her freshman season – she typically appears at left back with her club team Challenge SC. The freshman has displayed great quality inside and around the penalty box, combining with junior Sohana Spencer Sohana Spencer 5'7" | F Summer Creek | 2025 State #269 Nation TX to lead the team’s offense with multiple goals and assists. Maldonado has the pace and the dribbling skills to beat opponents and create chances, but she’s also very good at finishing them inside the penalty box. Also watch out for her set pieces, which are always precise and dangerous.
