Playing at the base of Tomball Memorial’s midfield, the sophomore was huge for them and had a major role in their strong performance. With Cypress Ranch playing long for most of the match, Boedeker did an excellent job of reading their passes and intercepting them before they crossed the midfield line, on many occasions getting the ball to a teammate in the attacking half. Her passing was flawless during the entire time as she was very smart to play quickly through the middle and also fed the attackers with accurate long balls in transition. Boedecker also had a strong presence in the attacking half and hit the crossbar twice, the first of them with a header and the second in one of the many dangerous long-distance shots she attempted.

Boedeker had a very consistent performance, getting the job done from start to finish. As Challenge’s defensive midfielder, she did a very good job of shielding the team’s backline and won many duels in the center of the field. Boedeker also did a fine job with her distribution, helping her team move the ball around efficiently – in the second half, she ignited some dangerous transition plays with her smart passing. She was very lucky with the shot that resulted in Challenge’s first goal, but at the same time was rewarded for her confidence to shoot from distance in a match that, up to that point, didn’t have many chances for either side.

Boedecker thrived in her defensive midfielder role, impacting the game on both sides of the ball. Her passing was always precise and intelligent, finding the team’s outside backs and wingers in areas where they had more space to operate – the midfielder also dropped near the center backs to initiate the buildup when she felt the need to do it. Boedecker scored Challenge’s first goal with a beautiful left-footed shot from well outside the penalty box and also did a good job defensively, stepping up to put pressure on opponents.
