Outstanding performance from Liner today defensively as she made play after to play to shut down the Slammers attack. She was good on the ball as well completing a ton of passes and breaking lines.

Liner is one of the pillars of Sting’s backline, doing an excellent job of controlling the penalty box and dominating opponents. A six-footer, the center back is great at clearing crosses, but also does very well when she has to defend in space, showing intelligence to push opponents back or wide and patience to wait for the right moment to tackle them. The defender also thrives with her positioning, which allows her to consistently intercept passes in the center of the field and to step up and cover teammates when needed. Liner also offers significant offensive contributions to the team, appearing in the attacking penalty box to finish chances in set pieces and doing excellent work with his passing, often finding teammates in good spots in the final third with long balls.

08G ECNL RL NTX. Even though her team had the ball most of the time, the center back was called to action on some occasions and always responded well, stopping plays with her excellent positioning. Liner displayed great chemistry with fellow center back Miranda Black as the two complemented each other very well and were always ready to make plays. She also worked well in possession, helping her team circulate the ball efficiently, and registered an assist in a nice long pass that found forward

Liner and her Sting Royal 08 team will have Eastside FC, Richmond United and Eclipse Select as their opponents this weekend in Dallas. With her and Tylle Grimer, the team has one of the best center back duos in the age group as the two are very strong in every aspect of defense. A six-footer, Liner can dominate most opponents with her physicality, but she thrives in reading plays and intercepting passes. She also does an excellent job of defending inside the penalty box, benefiting from her size to clear crosses. The center back also has impressive calm and quality in possession and is comfortable to dribble and pass out of the back.

worked to perfection as they worked very well together to keep attackers away from the penalty box. Playing more to the left, Liner made some great interceptions and was very firm in her action when in 1v1 situations. Sting is a team that values possession to the fullest and the center back is a great fit to their system with her excellent passing range.

have been rock solid for Sting during the entire season and that showed again in the Texas Cup, when they only let a goal in. She’s very complete defensively, being capable of dominating opponents with her physical tools, but is also a very technical and intelligent defender, who reads the game well and makes great choices with her defensive actions. Liner is very strong in the air on both penalty boxes and is also productive in possession, picking her passes well and connecting the vast majority of them.

. Very physical, she used her height to clear long passes and crosses and dominated Challenge’s forwards with her athleticism. Liner was very strong in 1v1 duels too and was very quick to chase opponents away from the penalty box and to take a step forward and make interceptions when she sensed an opportunity to do it. The center back was also always very calm in possession and hit some accurate long passes from the back.

Liner is a favorite of PrepSoccer scouts for some time and she reenforced those praises with her performances in San Diego. The center back was outstanding throughout the event and stepped up her level even more during the knockout round game. An aerial threat on both sides of the ball, Liner was the target that everyone was looking at. She did exceptionally well in the run of play in cutting out crosses and keeping the center forward contained. With two shutouts from the four games, Sting Dallas Black had one of the most impressive defensive performances of the event.

Liner is the left center back (right-footed) for the Sting Black 08 ECNL side. She is very tall – perhaps the tallest player in this position in this class. It’s a disservice to only highlight her height though. Liner really stood out for how she approached defending. She did well in making contact with her body, but keeping her balance so she could withstand the initial contact and keep a strong base. She often came away cleanly with the ball with she entered into 50/50 duels, which ended up normally 75/25 in her favor. The confidence in her tackling carries over into how she approaches defending in general. She’s aggressive – and fun to watch. Liner has a tendency to do too much. She loves to get into challenges and win tackles, which can leave the other center back exposed at times. However, she is so dominant on the field that it’s difficult to actually call that a fault. Sting Dallas Black has six shutouts in 13 games. Liner is a major reason why they’ve been this successful during the 2022/2023 ECNL campaign.
