Five 2028s from the Southeast Scouts Must Know

Fromt he recent Girls Academy event, there were a handful of players from the freshman class who should be on the radar for scouts. The freshman was dominant at the Girls Academy event at the 09 age group. She holds off defenders with her strength. She turns on goal with her skill on the ball. And she can rip a shot through the net with her excellent technique. She showed off her elite two-way skills in the thrilling draw against Lamorinda. Cason intercepted passes, dribbled around defenders, and showed off great close control in traffic. She provided a number of key passes during the event to help spur the attack for IMG Academy. She has tremendous potential as a playmaker.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='200432' first='Brooke' last='Barnes'], Tophat 09 GA Gold - Barnes was impressive with her 1v1 defending during the Girls Academy Showcase. She offers elite attributes as an outside back. She has the pace to take on the top wingers step for step. She uses her body well in the duel and anticipates when the bad touch is coming to step in front of the ball. Barnes has tremendous quality on the ball as well as excellent vision in the passing. She could be one of the top right backs from the 2028 group.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='150779' first='Emily' last='Baxter'], Tophat 09 GA Gold - Baxter continues to impress with her play as one of the captain's of the Tophat side. She is so smooth on the ball. She makes great decisions and can hit every pass in the book. Baxter was at her best in the win over Cincinnati United 09 Gold. She did well finding her outlets and letting the wingers shine for her side.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='275909' first='Sophie' last='Kowalzyk'], Tophat 2010 GA Gold - The attacking talent for Tophat had an excellent game against Century United. She has a great first touch and good close control. She can play on the wing or through the center of the midfield. I thought she was best on the wing because of her ability to cut inside and forced defenders to play reactionary given her skill on the ball with either foot. She has unique playmaking qualities as well for an attacking player. Kowalzyk has a ton of potential and looks to be a top 2010 in the Girls Academy.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
