4A Matchday 6’s Best Performers

Matchday 6 at the 4A level gave us plenty of talented players. With a large list of players who caught my eye, choosing only a few was remarkably difficult. In fact, this matchday proved to be the most difficult to create a shortlist of only five. However, the following were the ones who truly impressed, in my opinion.    Makayla is a phenomenal forward talent who has the potential to have a special career. Her ability in the final third makes her a massive headache for opposing defenders, to say the least. One of the most impressive attributes is her intelligent movements. When she plays one-twos, she does so lightning quick, which gives her open space to run into and receive the ball. Regardless of how tight the play starts, her movements undo the defense. When she's in the box, she proves to be devastating. Her finishing is magnificent, even having near-post finishes on lock. Undoubtedly, she'll continue growing into a fantastic player.     Emma is a talented attacking midfielder who helps bring her team forward, especially when they need so the most. She has no problem dropping deep in order to receive the ball and play magnificent long passes. If she decides not to play long balls, she either drives it down the middle herself or plays it out wide so they drive it forward. Opening up the pitch allows her to run more freely in the channels, allowing her a chance to crash the box. She loves to go into the box, offering herself as another goal-scoring option. Her finishing is just as good as her playmaking, finding the back of the net easily. Her presence is crucial to oxygenate her team, more so when they're stuck in their own half.     Lia is a very impressive talent as a right-back, so much so that in a 6-2 win where she did not get a goal contribution, she caught my eye the most. In attack, though she can offer inverted support, she constantly overlaps and gives wide support. She doesn't just mindlessly bomb forward either. When she runs forward, she asks for the ball and helps circulate play to help both her and her team to create space. Her one-twos out wide are impressive, spinning the opposing wide players easily. She also has immense dribbling capabilities, especially when she needs to stay calm and collected. Pressure doesn't get to her, embarrassing any player who decides to press her too.     Emily makes her <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2025/03/4a-week-2s-best-players/">second appearance</a> in this series, proving how she continues to impress as the season progresses. In this matchday, she showed even more attributes in her game. For one, she knows how to use her body to shield the ball away from defenders. This not only allows for her to retain possession but also gives her more space to play short, progressive passes. Regardless of where she is on the pitch, she will successfully shield the ball if she needs to. When she drops back, she also proves to have more to her game. She helps circulate play and stimulate attacks, even if she is left out of the final part. Finally, her long shots are magnificent, beating the keeper from remarkably far.     Briella is a great striker who proves to be very effective in the final third. Her movements into space are great, always getting into positions that allow her team to move forward. This doesn't only mean moving down the middle either. She often drifts out wide and deeper than the rest of the attack to keep the play moving forward. Her deliveries into the box are fantastic, reminding me of a right-footed version of Lamine Yamal when she pulls them off. Her lofted crosses are one part of her passes into the box, as she also plays great ground passes that generate danger. In the box, she is a threat not only when she shoots but also in aerials. Finding the back of the net is no big deal either, scoring goals for fun.
