Five Goalies to Know from the Updated Texas 2027 Boys Rankings

After some months, the Prep Soccer 2027 Texas Boys State Ranking was updated earlier this week, with new players being added to the prestigious list that features only the best of the best in the Lone Star State and the existing ones having their positions adjusted.   The ranking will continue to be consistently updated so it accurately reflects the progress achieved by players over time and presents a clear picture of the Texas landscape, always having in mind each prospect's potential to make an impact at teh next level.   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><a href="https://prepsoccer.com/texas/rankings/boys/2027-rankings/">Texas 2027 Boys State Rankings</a></li> </ul>   The updated Texas 2027 Boys State Rankings now feature 92 players from every corner of the Lone Star State, and we're taking the week to present you with some of the most intriguing names that made the list.   We start with the goalkeepers:    Burchfield is the top-ranked goalkeeper in Texas in the age group and appears in eighth place overall. He spent the last season with [program_tooltip program_id='283612' first='Austin' last='FC'] and, after being unattached for a few months, recently joined [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas'], where he will mostly be playing for their U19 team in the MLS Next League. Standing at 6'6", Burchfield is an imposing figure in goal, and he uses his length and his wingspan extremely well to make stops. Unlike most goalkeepers of his size, he's very agile and often makes impressive saves by using his reflexes. A product of the [program_tooltip program_id='283657' first='Houston' last='Dynamo'] academy, he's currently with their U19 team, where he continues to develop in the MLS Next League. Called up to the US U16 national team a few months ago, Schorzman has solid technical skills and is very reliable and consistent with his actions between the posts, using his length very well and demonstrating solid reaction speed. He has a very high success rate in 1v1 plays, and when he can't get off his post to intercept passes behind the backline on time, he does a very good job of taking up space from opponents by fully stretching his arms and using his legs. After spending the last two seasons in Austin, where he represented [program_tooltip program_id='283612' first='Austin' last='FC'] and [program_tooltip program_id='283624' first='Capital' last='City SC'] in the MLS Next League, he returned to the El Paso area this summer to join [program_tooltip program_id='337386' first='El' last='Paso Locomotive FC'] in the USL Academy League. His body control is one of the things that stand out the most in his game, and allows him to perform impressive saves, especially when going against short-range finishes. Jurado also does very well when it comes to controlling the penalty box in the air, as he reads the ball's trajectory accurately and expertly navigates the box to get to it. He plies his trade with the [program_tooltip program_id='283639' first='Dallas' last='Hornets'], representing the club in the U17 division of the MLS Next League. He makes the most of his excellent positioning between the posts to make saves, always having the ball within his reach and demonstrating good ability to explode and get to it, even in difficult spots. He plays high school soccer for Plano West and stands out for the [program_tooltip program_id='283311' first='Dallas' last='Texans'] Academy U19 team in the ECNL League. His athleticism and impressive reflexes help him produce jaw-dropping saves between the posts and make of him one of the most difficult goalkeepers to score on.
