Girls Academy Champions Cup 2011 Best XI

The Girls Academy Champions Cup wrapped up earlier this month. The event featured some of the top teams in the country competing in the knock-out style event on the way to crowning the champion. Lou Fusz r<a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2026/03/lou-fusz-2011-and-city-sc-2010-crowned-ga-champions/">epeated as champions of the event</a>.   Below is the Prep Soccer Best XI from the 2011 age group at the event.    Outlaw had a number of noteworthy performances at GK from the event in Florida. The Michigan standout was key in goal in a number of close games. She saved a penalty kick on the last day with a terrific save.     There were so many worthy candidates from the Lou Fusz squad for a place on the Best XI. Ultimately, there were only two who get a spot on the team from the champions even though they could've had an argument for five or more of the spots. Austin, the center back, was one of the players who just put together consistent performance after consistent performance. She was a major reason why Lou Fusz was impossible to beat in Florida.     Alling impressed at center back from the event for Lamorinda. She was excellent in her two-way play. She's an athletic defender who pulled off some very clean slide tackles. Alling did well with her distribution too. She was one of the best in the win over Beadling.     Buchanan was a leader for the Tophat squad at the event in Florida. The center back had strong performances in every game. She was heavily involved in the action and made key plays throughout the games. Her long passing and her off-ball intelligence with positioning was a highlight in the difficult game against Lou Fusz.   [player_tooltip player_id='176723' first='Sydney' last='Fahrner'] and [player_tooltip player_id='207862' first='Makenna' last='Johnson']-Williams were also standouts for Tophat.     The [program_tooltip program_id='283302' first='Columbus' last='United'] center back had a great week in Florida. She is already on the radar for US Soccer scouts and Girls Academy scouts, and she only helped solidified her spot as one of the best players in the GA with her performances at the Champions Cup. She made a couple of key blocks in every game. She was excellent against Galaxy SC and New York SC.   Zoe Barnett and Veronica Feldmann were also standouts for [program_tooltip program_id='283302' first='Columbus' last='United'].     Suess was terrific for [program_tooltip program_id='283295' first='City' last='SC']. She was the leader of the backline for her squad. Her performance thoughout the week was a key reason why her team advancing to the semifinal round. Suess headlined the defense that started the event with back-to-back shutouts. She was excellent against [program_tooltip program_id='283302' first='Columbus' last='United'] with her ability to read the game and shut down the opposition.   Harper Finlinson was also a standout from the City defense.     Erlichman is a 2012 who was playing up an age group at the event. She was outstanding in the center back role for NEFC, which did not allow more than one goal in any game from Florida. Despite being one of the youngest players there, she did not back down from a challenge. She was smart about how she used her body in the duel and did well in getting into the tackle when the attacking player took a bad touch. She was excellent in possession too. She made good passes and kept her side organized. She was a top player at the event while playing up an age group.   Sloane Kocoloski was also excellent at center back for NEFC.     The NEFC squad was one of the best teams at the event, despite not making it to the final. They were unlucky in the quarterfinal against CUP, even though they generated chances and had the run of play for extended periods of time. Hoff's ability to cover ground certainly stood out from the midfield. It felt like she was all over the field and making key plays all the time. She had some key passes through out the event - including some beautiful passes in the game against CUP. She also scored some goals - both from long range efforts and from combination plays that set up easier chances close on goal. Hoff is a well rounded midfielder with a high ceiling.     Young was a bright spot for the CUP team that went 3-1 at the event with a third place finish. Young was terrific in the midfield against Utah Celtic. She was smart and strong in the tackle. She used her body well against taller competition. Young impressed with her skill in the attack. She is an excellent passer with good vision. She also can score from range, which is a common trait among a few of the CUP midfielders. She nabbed the game-winner against NEFC on a brilliant strike from distance.   Isabel Cullum was another star of the CUP midfield. The 2012 standout looks to be one to watch for the future.     Kulpa had an excellent showing at the event as an attacking midfielder for [program_tooltip program_id='283695' first='Michigan' last='Jaguars']. She was heavily involved in the action in the first two games - against NYSC and [program_tooltip program_id='321167' first='Union' last='KC']. She ended the event with two goals scored from the four games. She was involved in pretty much all of the other goals for her side as well.     Carter was an easy choice as a the Player of the Event. The two-way player scored all three goals for her side in the semifinal. She added both goals in the final. She had six goals in the four games. It was one of the most dominant performances from a youth event this season.     Jones had a standout week in Florida for her Indy Premier side. She helped her team to an appearance in the championship game against Lou Fusz. She scored both goals in the semifinal win over [program_tooltip program_id='283295' first='City' last='SC']. Jones was a constant threat in every game. The center forward has the finisher's mentality and instincts, which will suite her well at the top levels of the game.   Zoey Montgomery was another standout in the Indy Premier attack. The duo was seemingly involved in everything for their side.
