The ECNL National Selection Match stole the show

Sophia made some great stops and showed her toughness after returning from a collision in the match. She didn't miss a beat once she returned and seemed to have forgotten the previous play while taking on a player making a run on goal. Her ability to read the offense sets her up in the right spots to take away attacking and shooting angles. The MVLA star will definitely make an immediate impact on the college of her choosing. June 15 will be a busy day of phone calls for her and her family. She was quick on the ball and made crisp and precise passes. Showing her technical abilities and fierce competitiveness was a sight to see. Every time she touched the ball, the crowd would erupt as they anticipated something great. Of course, she delivered with an assist to Evelyn Contreras to put the East up 2-1. The Florida commit is ready for the next level and hopes to get her team qualified for the national playoffs.<br></p>     <p class="text-gray-700">She made some key saves in the match. A quick dive to her right, going up high, and cutting off the angle of a speedy forward were some of the skills she showed the crowd in the national selection match. Areya is a Guatemala U-17 Youth National Team player with experience playing at the international level. Her strengths are in using her athleticism to take on players in 1v1s. I really like how she can make key saves in critical moments as well as play the ball at her feet.
