Expert Analysis

The #2 ranked player in New Jersey, #2 in position, and #39 in the nation for the class of 2027 was locked in at the ECNL National Selection Match. She was quick on the ball and made crisp and precise passes. Showing her technical abilities and fierce competitiveness was a sight to see. Every time she touched the ball, the crowd would erupt as they anticipated something great. Of course, she delivered with an assist to Evelyn Contreras to put the East up 2-1. The Florida commit is ready for the next level and hopes to get her team qualified for the national playoffs.

plays as a midfielder for PDA Blue G09. She is strong, confident and is smart on and off the ball. She showcased her pace with the ball and has the awareness to see gaps in the lines to attack. Smith can win in the air and has great movement off the ball after connecting with a teammate. She does a good job of recovering for others around her and can cross the ball well. Over all,

Smith is one of the stars in the midfield for the Blue Devils but her contributions don’t always show up on the score sheet. Whether it’s winning 50-50 balls, breaking up attacks or springing the counter attack in transition, Smith does a lot of heavy lifting.

Smith, a sophomore midfielder from PDA Blue ECNL 09 was SCH’s most dangerous offensive threat. She dribbled through the Westtown defense a few times and was deadly from set pieces. She was close to scoring an “Olimipico” late in the game among a few other well-driven corner kicks.

Smith stood out throughout the day both in the drills and the small-sided and 11v11 matches. Her ability to read the game, run off the ball and disrupt opponents was impressive.

Smith was very good in midfield for her PDA Blue team that ended the event undefeated with two wins and a tie. She was very active in midfield and was one of the team’s main playmakers with her ability to see the game well and connect good passes. Smith is a player that doesn’t need much time on the ball to make an impact and her ability to quickly move the ball upfield was extremely valuable when they were playing in transition. The midfielder was also very good at striking the ball, doing a nice job in set pieces.

Smith is a midfielder on the PDA 09 Blue ECNL team. She is a box-to-box midfielder. She is a fun soccer player to scout. She is super slippery to defend – elusive in tight spaces, great at body feints. She uses her quick feet well in duels as she likes to get away from the opposition – rather than seek out contact. She is a good passer. She hits a variety of passes and does a good job of looking off defenders to creating passing lanes. She often plays the pass between the outside back and center back for the attacker to exploit the space when the outside back is too tight on the mark. It’s a clever pass and one that is seen more often at the higher levels of the game. Smith has some elite qualities for her position. She is one of the top players in the state for that region.
