The senior started the match in central midfield and was very active on both sides of the ball for the Lady Mustangs. Hemperley was reading the game very well and was the first to get to second balls on many occasions, helping her team keep possession. She also had a big role in the team’s distribution, connecting good passes, and provided great service off of long free kicks, sending dangerous crosses into the penalty box. Hemperley moved to the right side of the team’s attack in the second half and, although she had more of an impact on the team’s chance-creation because she was closer to the opposing penalty box, she wasn’t as active as in the first half.

Hemperley was a key piece in the offensive system of her team Rise SC 07 GA, which was one of the best in the event, getting three wins and scoring 12 goals. A very physical and mobile player, she created numerous goalscoring opportunities for her team with her ability to make turns and progress the ball. Hemperley played an important role in getting on the end of long passes, but was even better when she faced the opposing goal, going at defenders and beating them off the dribble. She displayed great finishing skills and combined very well with attacking midfielder Breanna Medina, engaging in combination plays and making smart runs off the ball.
