Shirley came up as the 43rd-best midfielder in the Class of 2027, appearing in the 159th overall spot. She’s part of Johnson’s high school team and plays in the Girls Academy League, representing San Antonio SC in the U17 age group. Capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or on the wings, she’s a technically gifted and creative player who often gets opposing defensive systems out of shape with her ability to beat opponents off the dribble in tight spaces. Shirley also provides great service in set pieces and consistently picks the right passing options in the final third.

Shirley has chosen The University of Incarnate Ward to continue her academic and soccer career in 2027. Shirley impressed me on tape and looks a little under ranked to me. She has an amazing shot with both feet and great footwork on the ball to create her next action. Tough as nails on defense and loves a slide tackle the central midfielder can be a day difference maker for this Cardinal program. UIW is 4-7-4 and will need to win the SCC tournament to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. Strong fit.

SA City SC didn’t have much success trying to attack STLDA when in possession, so transition plays became an interesting weapon for them and Shirley contributed a lot to that. Very quick in her mind, she was often fed the ball in tough spots or under pressure, but did a very good of beating opponents with turns and progressing the ball with her runs. She also did a good job of picking the right passes when closer to the penalty box, but couldn’t really generate a real chance. Shirley also did a good job with her set pieces.
