About Teagan
Expert Analysis

Teagan played primarily as an attacking mid. During previous club competitions, I’ve evaluated her mainly as a center back. This new position suits her well, as she looked to be the focal point of the Wildcats’ attack. She made great passes, pressed up high, and even got win-backs. Teagan’s dribbling skills were on display as she was able to weave through the defense effortlessly while creating openings for the offense. The Santa Clara commit looked comfortable in the position, and she played a big part in the team’s dominating performance in ball control and scoring. Teagan is also an ECNL National Champion with her MVLA club team.

Santa Clara isn’t having their best season on the field but they continue to recruit gems to their program. Kaefer is an outstanding pick up for the Broncos who plays just down the road with the defending ECNL National Champions MVLA 2009 team. She is a box to box midfielder who can dictate tempo exceptionally well.

She is a top-ranked defender/midfielder in the California 2027 class. She played on a very good Los Gatos high school team, which went undefeated in league play at 9-0-3 for first place. The sophomore starter was a key part of their success as they ranked #70 in CA. I’ve evaluated her on at least 5 occasions. Each time she put on a solid performance, and I believe her teams won each time. When playing the center back position, it is nearly impossible to get clear runs at goal. I like that she can push up and add some firepower up front when needed. She has a very high soccer IQ, and it is evident in how she possesses exceptional tactical awareness. Teagan and her MVLA ECNL G09 team won a national championship, and this team will definitely be favored to repeat next year.

This MVLA team hasn’t let in a goal in Virginia. Their defensive unit has such great understanding of each other. Kaefer organizes her teammates and transitions with extreme haste. She is excellent on the ball and plays with an exceptional soccer IQ.

Kaefer possesses the prototypical center back build with impressive strength that doesn’t come at the expense of her mobility and pace. Her presence as the vocal leader of the backline was evident throughout the match, organizing her defensive unit and taking command of situations when pressure mounted. She delivered several crucial interventions that preserved the clean sheet, including a pair of clutch stops that prevented Legends from finding the breakthrough. Her combination of physical tools and leadership qualities make her an intriguing prospect for college programs seeking a defensive anchor.

Teagan’s impressive play on defense kept the opposing team from slipping through the middle of the field. She closed down diagonal runs and made quick decisions to disrupt some of the speedy players from getting behind the defensive line. Her ability to start quick counter attacks helped the Wildcats get into scoring range. She has the technical skills as a midfielder and contributes when her team is pressing. It is hard to believe that she is only a sophomore as skill-level is usually seen at higher age groups. Teagan also plays for the MVLA ECNL G09 team.

Kaefer’s value in the midfield cannot be overstated. And she is one of those players that when she is doing her job well, might get unnoticed. She is unflappable on the ball, handling pressure and maneuvering in tight areas with ease. Her ability to keep balls alive, or win a ball in the midfield, is uncanny and she creates opportunities for her team by simply helping maintain possession. She shows all the traditional skills, too, showing speed, showing the ability to carry and to deliver precise balls with pace to the feet of running players.

Kaefer is very comfortable in possession. Not surprising from an MVLA product. Combines with her teammates very well and a tough competitor on the defensive end. Two-footed player who finds passing lanes effectively.

Kaefer is a top defensive midfielder in this class. The MVLA 09 standout plays one of the most important roles for that team. She has an excellent first touch and her teammates feel comfortable playing into her feet in any situation. She is a 360 player – in the sense that she is not predictable in that she will only play the way she is facing. She is open to stepping on the ball and scanning every option on the field to find the best pass to keep possession for her side. Kaefer could be more assertive on the field and really do more to dictate the game. There are plenty of times when she is the best player on the field, and she just needs to take that next step in string together more key passes in the key moments to really put her signature on the game.
