After playing as a right back in her freshman season, Sprayberry appeared in midfield for Tompkins against Seven Lakes and had a very solid match, especially on the defensive side of the ball. She played a few different roles in midfield for them and was always very efficient and reliable. Sprayberry stood out with her positioning and on multiple occasions made key defensive plays, inside and outside the penalty box. She also did a fine job in possession, taking good care of the ball and not turning it over.

Sprayberry plays right back for the Rise SC 09 team that will meet Oakwood Soccer Club, Sacramento United and Seattle Reign Academy in the showcase. She’s a very solid defensive player, who wins most of the physical battles she gets involved and has a very efficient rate with tackles and challenges. Sprayberry is a player who will rarely make mistakes during matches and who will contribute with intelligent and efficient actions. She can also play left back and in midfield, while keeping the same level of performance. When used as an outside back, she won’t likely make many pushes forward, but will help to keep the team’s offense flowing with her passing and buildup play.

Sprayberry has immediately become an important starter in a strong Tompkins team that just advanced to the area round of the playoffs. A player with solid technical and physical skills, she has the ability to play in a variety of different positions. I’ve watched her play right and center midfield with great efficiency, doing solid defensive work and displaying good quality on the ball. Sprayberry is also a very intelligent player, who makes good decisions under pressure and is very effective with her positioning on the field.
