Marquez was the focal point of the Rangers’ offense and delivered an excellent performance to lead them to victory with an impressive four goals. The forward offered a lot offensively for his team, doing solid holdup play, making smart diagonal runs on the wings and standing out with his positioning inside the box and always being an option for crosses. Marquez displayed excellent finishing skills, scoring his second goal with a nice first-time shot and getting the third by getting the ball past multiple AC River defenders into the back of the net. He was also very composed from the penalty kick spot, converting both of his attempts with confidence and precision.

A former GFI Player, Marquez did all against his team, leading the line for the Rangers in the attack. A striker, he was a little bit isolated in the first half, but did all he could to get service, getting on the end of long passes to work with his back to the goal and making runs behind the backline and out wide. Marquez was directly involved in the team’s first goal, and his movement in the final third helped create space for his teammates to explore. He was also important in keeping the ball up in the final minutes and helping his team preserve their lead.

Marquez had only one good chance to score, in the first half, when he was denied, but kept trying to create others until the end fo the match. The junior forward didn’t limit his presence to the penalty box, moving all over the final third to find space and make plays. He worked well with his back to the goal, combining with the team’s midfielders, and also made diagonal runs to get to the end line. Marquez also displayed great ability to dribble in tight spaces and create some good plays out wide.
