It was my first time watching Whipple live. Man oh man what a player she is. Whipple might be the closest thing you can get to a center back built in a laboratory. She has everything, the size, the speed, the athleticism, the IQ, and the ball skills. The hype is legitimate. Big fan.

XF was the most dominant team at the event. They scored 20 goals and let in three – over the four games. Penn Fusion topped them for goal-differential, but Penn Fusion was sent home in the Round of 16 on a penalty kick shootout.
Whipple earns the spot for XF. The center back, who recently committed to Stanford, put together standout performances in every game for her side. She was the one name that every scout had on a best performer list. There’s an argument to be made she has the highest ceiling of any player who played in San Diego.

Whipple is a center back for XF and a member of the US Youth National Team. She can do just about anything – including being a track star now as well. She’s been one of the best at the ECNL level for some time. A leader for her team, Whipple stands out from the club level for her consistent play.
Whipple’s play reminds me of England National Team defender Leah Williamson – the speed, agility, and defensive instincts when reading the game are the carryover traits between the two.

Only one goal conceded in four games for XF Academy 08. Whipple, the left center back for the team, was a major reason why they were so successful against the best teams in the country. She was dominant in all facets of the game. No one could get past her. She was also a target for her team on set pieces as she created chances on that end of the field. Ryan Boehm, Saleen Koszorus, and Zoey Lavezzi were also standouts for XF Academy.

plays as a center back for Crossfire Premier G08. Whipple is a confident and strong center back who can thread passes well. She is able to break lines with her longer passes and shows she can switch the field well. Whipple showed accuracy her passing and does well with finding the open player. She scored the only goal of the game by being able to get on the end the free kick to secure the win for Crossfire Premier. Whipple did a good job of keeping the back line organized and preventing San Diego from getting many threatening attacking. Overall, Whipple showcased her strengths and was able to display an above average performance as a center back.

Whipple was a standout against FC Dallas in the group play game. She backed it up with another strong performance against De Anza Force in the Round of 16. Whipple is a center back with Youth National Team call-ups and it is easy to see why she is rated highly by scouts for that program. She does the little things well. She anticipates and reacts before most. She is unforgiving in the tackle and she does not quit on the play. She is exactly the type of center back who should be on the trajectory of the international level. Sydney Scott, Summer Murphy, and Saleen Koszorus were also standouts for Crossfire.

Center back. Left. Outrageous talent. Easily one of the top players in this class in the country. Well-rounded game with a super high ceiling. Everything you want to see for a player with international level potential. Dominant in the aerial duels for a player this young is especially noteworthy.
