About Vivian

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a goalkeeper I am communicative. confident, always scanning and athletic. My focus on my technique and control, as well as understanding the positioning of the field players to help guide them during play. I am fearless and make quick decisions and commit the follow through. I also value every teammate as a contributor to our successes, while also encouraging us to work together to improve.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very hard worker and lead by example. One of my coaches once told me that pressure is a privilege, and I have taken these words to heart. Every opportunity I have is a privilege, and I lock into each of these moments completely. My teammates know I am serious but that I will also encourage and laugh with my teammates and friends. I am always looking to learn and grow.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I belong to National Charity League (Willow Rose), which is a group of mothers and daughters who come together to provide community service, leadership development, and cultural experiences. I also volunteer at Sacred Heart Community Services where I help distribute food and essential services to members of our community. I was on the Fall 2025 Honor Roll (4.0) at Archbishop Mitty.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I was captain of my previous ECNL team as well as ODP CalNorth team. This role helped me understand the whole team and our collective goals, and not only what I want. I also know that the best leaders show a strong example, so I am focused on balancing soccer with my academics and the volunteer work I do. I think that discipline is one of the best qualities I have learned as a student athlete.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I think we all faced challenges when soccer was shut down in 2020 for Covid-19. Santa Clara was one of the last cities that allowed players to return to field training. I discovered BMX during this time, and I supplemented my private soccer trainings with BMX 3-5 days a week. I achieved my goal to make the intermediate class. Covid taught me to persevere, get creative, and be tough.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a D1 college which will provide the opportunity for an excellent college education while supporting my aspiration to play Pro post-college.

Vivian is part of a top-level MVLA 14-0-2 team, which recorded a 2-0-1 record at ECNL Phoenix.  They went up against some of the best teams in the nation.  She also was part of the National Selection Game on Team West.  She is by far one of the best 2028 goalkeepers I’ve seen up close, as I’ve previously evaluated her 7 times, during high school as well as ECNL competition.  Vivian and her team shut out the defending champs, the Michigan Hawks, and came away with a 2-0 victory.  She is always fearless in the box, calculates/anticipates well, and has the athletic abilities to make tough stops.
