The Mitty Forward made some key goals and provided assists in the Monarchs run to a NorCal Division II title match. I’ve covered her on numerous occasions at the club and high school level. One of her consistent strengths is in running down the channels and taking power shots from range. Her ability to apply strong pressure up top is what keeps defenders on their toes. The Washington commit is working on getting her club team to make a run at qualifying for the national tourney. I’m also getting the feeling that she will have her best season next year as she and her team looks to make a run at the WCAL title as they hope to return two top-level key players next season.

Archbishop Mitty’s Mid/Forward led all shots on goal. Somehow, a few saves by the Eagles GK and a few just missing by the slightest of margins kept Mitty off the board. Her strong runs on the wing and through the center of the pitch were a sight to see. The Washington commit played a great match while applying strong pressure in the attacking third and keeping defenders on their toes. I can’t wait to see her in ECNL action or see how far she and her team can go in the CCS and NorCal tournament.

She has the burst of speed to get by defenders. She can make precise passes while firing off rocket shots from her left boot. I covered her during her high school matches last season with her Archbishop Mitty team. I will definitely be at their matches this season, as they twice lost to the CCS and NorCal champions, Saint Francis, by the slimmest of margins. Zuri recently moved over from the MVLA side, and she seems to be fitting well into the Force system. Lastly, she is a University of Washington commit.

She showed technical skills in slicing through the defense and made precise shots on goals. Checking back to receive the ball was one of the things she did well. Brandt was able to make quick decisive moves to get into scoring range. At times she seemed to be in constant motion as defenders weren’t able to keep up with her pace. She was always aware of her spacing before committing to making her runs on goal. Great finishing skills as she slashed between defenders to score the last 2 goals.

An instinctive forward, the MVLA and Archbishop Mitty player shoots all the way up to No. 51. She has wonderful soccer acumen and a deep understanding of the forward position. She understands what it means to contribute in all areas. She is a fast player, a creative player who can score, but she also knows how to distribute, she understands that it is important to pressure the ball to step into passing lanes and to be a contributor all over the pitch.
