ECNL North Carolina Preview: De Anza Force – G09

A team with some high-level uncommitted players is on the bubble of making the national playoffs while competing in the ECNL North Carolina Showcase. Some of the players trying to catch the eyes of college coaches and scouts will be on hand to put on a good showing. They consist of some high-level class of 2027's and a few 2028's hoping for some June 15th calls.   The team has an overall record of 14-7-5, and they're on the bubble in making it to the national playoffs. Every match could potentially determine their fate. With the stakes this high, a really good showing might be what it takes to get this time into the biggest and most prestigious tourney of the year.   This group of players is ready to impress the college scouts and coaches and gear up for June 15th calls. This style of play causes opponents to feel rushed and uncomfortable, thus leading to errors or loss of possession. Her main strengths are on the offensive side, with the ability to play effectively on both sides of the pitch; it will be interesting to see where she will land in the recruiting cycle. Gigi's ability to use off-the-ball movements creates open pockets and allows runners to get into the 18 to create high-percentage scoring opportunities. I look forward to seeing her play a big part in Carondelet's upcoming season and run at the playoffs next season, as they look to return a bunch of key players with the intention to go far in the tourney. On the offensive side, Brooke uses her height and athleticism to win aerial challenges. When moving up on attack or playing as a forward, she provides high pressure up top to create defensive mistakes, which leads to high-percentage scoring opportunities. It will be interesting to see which college program will utilize her as either a forward or defender or somewhat in between. She's an up-and-coming player with a lot of upside in her game.
