Rankings Analysis: Six names to know from CA’s 2025s

The Beach FC 07 ECNL team has been a breakout star during this campaign - and is a team to watch in the playoffs this summer. Shin is an attacking midfielder/winger. She is a goal-hungry player who is a ruthless finisher. When she is out wide, she likes to play on the right and cut inside to put the ball on her left foot. She has pace with the ball at her feet so she immediately forces the defense to retreat. Once in the open field, she is great at scanning quickly and going through her options. She is a good passer and an efficient finisher. Shin is going to end up at a top, top program at the next level and be an immediate contributor. Of her physical attributes, her strength is deceiving. Whenever she goes into a tackle, the opposition tends to bounce off of her. She is lean, but she is a force. Most teams tend to press Surf tight at the start of the game, but usually drop off after 60 minutes because it is so frustrating to play against Sherrer and her teammates. She is difficult to dispossess because she is elusive with her movements and utilizes body feints really well. She is is clever with her shoulder drops and does well in using the opposition's body to turn the opposite direction and put the defender behind on her hip. She is also active off the ball and tough to stop because she is always adjusting her shape to support her teammates. Her passing and vision are a strong point as well. She does not force the pass, but she is capable of playing the key pass to split the defense. She has also scored a few goals as well when the defense drops off. Sherrer's ball striking technique is very good for a young player. She is a goalkeeper who can instill confidence in her teammates. Her performances at the start of the high school season helped raiser her level in the rankings as she looked like the top player in the position at times. She went up against one of the top forwards in the state and battled to lead her side to a shutout victory. Paolini is an instinctual defender in the way she has this game awareness sense that allows her to cut out danger early. She reads the game and anticipates better than almost any other player in this age group. She has this swagger to her play - and the extra large headband is just the perfect compliment to her aura - that stands out from the fields. She was a mark with her tackling and defensive work rate. She makes quick decisions with the ball and connects to her teammates with remarkable accuracy and consistency.
