Texas High School Boys Team Spotlight – Bridgeland Bears

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school soccer season is underway in the state of Texas and until mid-April, then the State Tournament will be held, thousands of teams will be in action all across the Lone Star State competing for a spot in the playoffs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Soccer will be following the action and constantly providing match reports on some of the most exciting duels and highlighting the players that are standing out for their teams. We'll also be presenting some of the most promising teams that we get to watch live so you know them a little bit better.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Bridgeland Bears</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Bridgeland Bears from the Cypress area are part of UIL's Division 6A - Region 2, District 16. The program was established in 2017 and has been making steady progress since the start. The Bears have made it to the playoffs in the last two seasons and went as far as the Regional Finals in 2020-2021. Osuna is very reliable and often rises to the occasion, making big saves in key moments of matches. He doesn't hesitate to leave his spot and close down on an attacker that manages to beat the team's backline and doesn't hold anything back when trying to make a stop. He's also very efficient in 1v1 duels, gradually taking space from his opponents until he makes the tackle. Hernandez is also great at creating space for himself by using his body to shield the ball and making quick turns in the middle. Koch is very good at getting on the ends of long passes and either controlling them or redirecting them to a teammate with his head. He's also excellent mobility and likes to fluctuate to the sides, from where he can make solo runs or combine with teammates.
