Goalkeepers Ready to Shine at Aggieland Friendship Cup

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2025-2026 club season is set to officially start within the next few weeks, and teams from all over Texas are currently finalizing their preparations for the upcoming matches and looking to get on the field and compete.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This weekend will mark an important step in the preparation for many teams in the Lone Star State, as they will be fine-tuning their games in friendly matches and tournaments ahead of the start of the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Several of them will be in College Station, where the 2025 edition of the traditional Aggieland Cup will be held between Saturday and Sunday. This year, the tournament will feature as many as 170 club teams from the U12 to the U19 age groups, coming from Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and other areas, and representing the ECNL, GA and DPL leagues, among others.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Some of the best players in Texas will be competing at Veteran's Park this weekend, and we'll present some names for you to follow. Kimmel is very skilled between the posts and is capable of making impressive saves with her superior reflexes and great positioning. Despite not being very tall, she does well in the air and is comfortable when she has to use her feet. Jeff is very athletic and explosive between the posts, and that allows her to get to difficult shots near the post and to perform impressive stops in close-range finishes. A shorter goalkeeper, Trevino heavily relies on her agility and her technical skills to make saves between the posts, and she thrives at that. Her positioning is typically excellent, and her confidence also helps as she never hesitates or second-guesses her decisions between the posts. Rosetta is also very confident and efficient when dealing with crosses as she navigates the penalty box smartly and always finds the ball before an attacker does. A tall and physical shot-stopper, she does a great job of using her big frame to make saves between the posts. A good thing with Vontoure is that, despite being very physical, she's extremely mobile and has excellent reflexes, which makes it even harder for opponents to score on her.
