Texas ECNL Stars Joining New Teams in 2025-2026

<p>The 2025-2026 ECNL season is set to start at the end of the month, and many teams competing in the league will have new looks in the upcoming season after some players switched clubs since the end of the 2024-2025 campaign.</p>   <p>Over the next two weeks, many teams in the league will be in action with a series of friendly matches taking place in Fort Worth this weekend and the traditional season-opening Aggieland Friendship Cup in College Station following the next one, offering the first opportunities for players to get on the field with their new teammates.</p>   <p>Here are some of the players who will be wearing different jerseys in 2025-2026:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Mahon was one of three stars to leave Solar SC and join [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas']' U19 team ahead of the upcoming season - forward [player_tooltip player_id='26833' first='Jordan' last='Hill'] and goalkeeper [player_tooltip player_id='26898' first='Kayla' last='Cervantes'] did the same. A strong candidate to represent the US in the upcoming U17 FIFA World Cup in October, she will be able to reunite with former Solar teammate [player_tooltip player_id='27001' first='London' last='Young'] and form arguably the best center back pairing in the country. Also capable of playing as an outside back, Mahon is extremely reliable in central defense as she seems to always know what to do to win possession, be it adjusting her positioning to intercept a pass, press an opposing attacker or cover the space behind her back. In her new club, she should play next to [player_tooltip player_id='148431' first='Ava' last='Sexton'], forming a center back duo that has size, intelligence and quality on the ball to not only shut opponents down, but also to truly make a difference in matches. A complete center back, Villarreal is physical enough to dominate opponents inside and around the penalty box, but she often relies on her ability to read plays to get to the ball first and win possession without getting into duels. She first played as a forward and has the quality and confidence on the ball to dribble through pressure and to initiate attacking plays out of the back.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Meehan started the last club season with [program_tooltip program_id='283317' first='[program_tooltip program_id='280767' first='DKSC' last='']' last=''] and joined Sting Royal for the playoffs. After moving to the Houston area, she's set to play for [program_tooltip program_id='283243' first='Albion' last='Hurricanes FC'] 10, where she should form a lethal offensive quartet with [player_tooltip player_id='214146' first='Bridget' last='Asekomhe'], [player_tooltip player_id='210626' first='Caroline' last='Barrow'] and [player_tooltip player_id='214145' first='Ashley' last='Baxter']. Her ability to control the game from central midfield will be an invaluable asset for the team, while also making it harder for opponents to game plan for them. Meehan is very smooth with her play, uses her body well to dominate the center of the field and is excellent with her distribution. She should add a lot to them offensively with her ability to keep opposing backlines under pressure in different ways. A lethal finisher, Garner is excellent with her positioning inside the penalty box, but she also thrives when drifting wide to either beat opponents off the dribble or make strong diagonal runs and attack the space between defenders. She also likes to drop back to get on the ball more often and has the quality to find great passes and to beat defenders with quick turns.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">After a decade, Harris has left [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas'] and will spend her last year of club soccer with Sting Black in their U19 team. A dynamic attacking player with a knack for scoring goals, she has the potential to take their offense to another level with her production. Mostly used on the left wing, she moves very well in the final third and gets on the ball very often, supporting the team's chance creation and appearing inside the penalty box to finish chances. Harris plays with a lot of energy and her non-stop movement keeps opposing defenders under constant pressure.
