U.S. Soccer is hosting a Talent Identification Center in Northern California this week with the 2008 and 2009 age groups. The roster for the 2009 age group is listed below. The roster for the 2008 age group is posted here.

While this roster was supplied to players and clubs a few weeks ago, there is a possibility for late additions or injury replacements. The below roster was given to PrepSoccer.

Check out a scouting report on a handful of the players taking part in the Talent ID Center in Davis, California later this week.

Francisco Mendoza

Mendoza has already agreed to join Columbus Crew for next season so there is an approaching deadline on his time in Northern California. The MLS Academy is getting an attacking talent that has been outstanding this season in MLS Next - and should shine during the Talent ID event this week. I've predominantly seen him play as a center forward, but I could imagine him in any attacking role. He has been physically dominant against players his own age in MLS Next. He is not always the tallest, but he is strong and fast. He uses his body well too. However, his feel for the game is more impressive than his physical attributes. His runs off the ball, the way he uses his body to shield, and how he anticipates the movement of his teammates are all traits way because his years. He does well defensively, and cuts off options in the press. He creates chances in the transition. He is an easy difference-maker to spot from the MLS Next level. Club teammate [player_tooltip player_id='146558' first='Immanuel' last='Ewing'], a left winger, is also part of this event and will be joining the Crew next season as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='146409' first='Jorge' last='Torres'] Perez

Perez is another center forward on this roster. He is also another player with some positional versatility. He likes to drop a level to get more touches on the ball, so there is the opportunity that he could feature as an attacking midfielder or an inverted winger in the future or for a different club. He is a motivated player who has spent time training with some of the biggest clubs in Europe. He is right-footed, makes quick decisions on the ball, and had a good first touch. He has a poacher's mentality around the goal and scored quite a few goals this season by getting into the right spots. He was recent in England training with Wolves.

[player_tooltip player_id='147501' first='Christopher' last='Munoz']

Munoz is a new addition to San Jose's academy. He previously played for San Francisco Glens. He is playing into the midfield for San Jose, I believe he played as a forward for Glens. He is a tall player for this age group. He has good footwork - he scored a spectacular goal this year where he took on a few defenders and danced past them with his close control and skill near the touch line before putting the shot past the goalkeeper. For Quakes, those same skills are showing, but he is facilitating a lot for his new team. He is one to watch during the postseason as Quakes put together a run at the MLS Next championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='146420' first='Warren' last='Boyce']

Right winger for the Sacramento Republic. The first part of Boyce's game that stands out is his speed and willingness to work. He is a good passer with vision to see the diagonal ball and the nuance of timing to work well with his outside back on overlaps and 1-2s. Boyce has been identified by US Soccer in the past and was part of the West Region U14 National Team camp.

[player_tooltip player_id='147170' first='Gavin' last='Stone']

Stone is one of the top players from the Boys ECNL in the region. He plays as an attacking midfielder or box-to-box midfielder. His partner in the midfield [player_tooltip player_id='147505' first='Javier' last='Vigil'] is also part of this event. Vigil is more the chisel, and Stone is the hammer for the team. That said, Stone is a skillful player with good instincts. He has the physical profile to be a big time prospect in this age group. A willing runner, Stone covers the whole field for his club team. He offers a finisher's mentality from the role and can take on players on the dribble. I'd like to see him a bit more aggressive defensively as it feels like he could be a dominant player on that side of the ball to really take his game to the next level.

Talent ID Center Roster - Davis, California

[player_tooltip player_id='146660' first='Oscar' last='Araiza Rojas'] (Albion SC Merced), [player_tooltip player_id='146558' first='Immanuel' last='Ewing'] (Albion SC Merced), [player_tooltip player_id='146763' first='Tyrone' last='Knight'] (Albion SC Merced), Francisco Mendoza (Albion SC Merced), Johan Casillas Vega (Atletico Santa Rosa), [player_tooltip player_id='146777' first='Isaac' last='Ventura'] (Ballistic United), [player_tooltip player_id='146791' first='Jaime' last='Ontiveros'] Jr. (San Jose Earthquakes), [player_tooltip player_id='146628' first='Roi' last='Shalon'] (San Jose Earthquakes), [player_tooltip player_id='146524' first='Matthew' last='White'] (San Jose Earthquakes), [player_tooltip player_id='146420' first='Warren' last='Boyce'] (Sacramento Republic), [player_tooltip player_id='146788' first='Julian' last='Nunez-Corona'] (Sacramento Republic), [player_tooltip player_id='146646' first='Preston' last='Thao'] (Sacramento Republic), [player_tooltip player_id='147505' first='Javier' last='Vigil'] (Santa Rosa United), Pedro Dias (San Francisco Glens SC), [player_tooltip player_id='147501' first='Christopher' last='Munoz'] (San Jose Earthquakes), [player_tooltip player_id='146685' first='Christian' last='Trelles'] (San Francisco Glens SC), Marcelo Avalos (San Jose Earthquakes), [player_tooltip player_id='146406' first='Aidan' last='Baker'] (San Jose Earthquakes), Damian Gonzalez (San Jose Earthquakes), William Ostrander (San Jose Earthquakes), [player_tooltip player_id='98020' first='Edgar' last='Rodriguez'] (San Jose Earthquakes), Woltjer Rojas (San Jose Earthquakes), [player_tooltip player_id='146403' first='Kaedren' last='Spivey'] (San Jose Earthquakes), [player_tooltip player_id='146409' first='Jorge' last='Torres'] Perez (San Jose Earthquakes), [player_tooltip player_id='147507' first='Noah' last='Lancerin'] (San Francisco Elite Academy), [player_tooltip player_id='146770' first='Chadwell' last='Mima'] (SVSA), Nolan Gray (Mustang SC), [player_tooltip player_id='147170' first='Gavin' last='Stone'] (Santa Rosa United), [player_tooltip player_id='147503' first='Rylan' last='Hashimoto'] (Sacramento Republic FC), [player_tooltip player_id='147510' first='Sebastian' last='Palmer'] (Los Gatos United Soccer Club), Devin Brilliant (Mustang SC)
