Several of the top teams in the state of Texas will head to College Station this weekend for the Aggieland Friendship Cup, a massive tournament that will feature 144 teams from the U12 to the U19 age groups between Saturday and Sunday.
There will be some serious talent in action this week and here are players to follow in the U17 Age Group:
Elise Bienvenu
Elise Bienvenu
A goalkeeper with solid skills and unwavering consistency, Bienvenu will be working between the posts for Dynamos USC TX RL G07 over the weekend. A University of Mary Hardin-Baylor commit, she stands out for her strong technical skills, which allow her to make good saves looks routine for both her club and high school teams. Bienvenu was excellent spacial awareness and is also very reliable when dealing with long-distance shots. She also operates well when she doesn’t have as much time to react, stopping close-range finishes and collecting crosses with confidence.
Typically deployed on the left side of Challenge SC RL G07’s backline, Delatorre is a very strong fullback, who brings a lot to the field. She’s extremely solid defensively, thriving with her good positioning, excellent timing for tackles and hard work – her sliding tackles, in particular, are always very efficient. Delatorre is also very prolific in possession, having the ability to quickly move the ball upfield by dribbling it or connecting good passes. She can also be an offensive threat in more than one way, sprinting through the sideline to make crosses or coming inside to work in combination plays.

Annika Denning
Annika Denning
A state champion with Marcus, Denning plays a pivotal role in the center of the midfield of the Dallas Texans RL G07, getting heavily inovolved in the team’s play on both sides of the ball. Denning is a player with excellent physical and technical tools and she uses both of them to impose her game over opponents in the central area of the field. Very big and physical, Denning makes very quick and strong moves when tackling opponents, giving them little chance to walk away with the ball. When in possession, she displays great vision, making passes with extreme accuracy and timing them extremely well.
A new face with Sting Dallas Black ECNL G07 coming from the Dallas Texans, Hoss is a talented offensive midfielder, who plays a big role in the team’s chance-creation. A lefty, she does a very good job of moving around the central area of the field to get on the ball, always offering a passing option to her teammates. She’s also very good and efficient in possession, always making good decisions with the ball. Hoss had the ability to make switches that often disorganize the opposing backline, but doesn’t rush things, taking her time to pass the ball back and recycle possession when needed. She also finishes very well from mid and short range.

Recently named to the ECNL U15 All-American Team, Chaump is one of the most dangerous forwards in the state playing for Sting Dallas Black ECNL G08. She has all the tools to create problems for opposing defenders, combining good size, excellent pace and very solid skills on the ball. Chaump is at her best playing as a right winger, from where she can beat defenders off the dribble and create chances for her teammates, but also makes smart movements off the ball to get into position to finish chances inside the penalty box.
