Let’s take a look at some interesting players who will be in action at Cox Fields, Veterans Pak and R.E. Goods Sports Complex this weekend, starting with the U16 division:

Crawford has been in great form with Challenge SC G08 ECNL-Regional League team this season and it will be interesting to see how she does against different competition this weekend in Dallas. She has good reflexes between the posts and is the type of goalkeeper that won’t risk anything with her saves, always going with the safest option. Crawford also uses her body well when she needs to step up to stop an incomign attacker and often gets stops with her legs. The goalkeeper is also always very calm and focused, which makes her make good decisions under pressure.
One of the captains of her FC Dallas G09 ECNL team, Tuzzolino is an extremely valuable element for them on the field. A player with a very high soccer IQ, she can play anywhere across the backline and is capable of providing what each position requires. Tuzzolino is very strong defensively, making intelligent decisions when trying to win the ball back and timing her tackles extremely well. She plays hard when necessary, but also succeeds by reading the game well and making anticipations. The outside back is also solid in possession, connecting good passes out of the back.
Highlights
Wilson is a key piece in the backline of her Dallas Texans G09 ECNL team. She can play center back or outside back and wherever she is, she’ll help the team by making big defensive stops. Wilson is very athletic and uses her physical tools extremely well to dispossess opponents, but also thrives by reading the game and cutting passing lanes. She’s also a solid player in possession with her ability to hit long passes and to drive the ball forward.
Zeniyah Russell

A very skilled player, Russell will be one of the offensive weapons of her team Renegades SC G08 GA. She has excellent ball control and uses it very well to create chances and beat opponents in wider areas of the field. Russell is very quick and makes great moves in tight spaces, which makes of her a real threat even when she’s not in open field. She’s at her best when bringing the ball inside from wider positions to finish, which she does extremely well, and find passes to her teammates. She can also play as an outside back.
The dangerous Gilbert will lead the line for DKSC G08 ECNL in the event. She’s a complete forward, who can hurt opponents in a variety of ways and is always very efficient in the final third. Gilbert moves very well with and without the ball and that puts her in a position to make plays. She can play behind a true striker, dropping deeper to get the ball and make runs through the middle, or stay up top, using her positioning to get on the end of crosses and passes inside the penalty box. Gilbert also passes, dribbles and finishes well with either feet.
