Prep Soccer has been following the action in the Houston area, covering multiple matches a week and reporting on them with photo galleries and player reports.
We’re also paying special attention to the new faces emerging in the region and will periodically list some of the most promising freshmen we’ve spotted on the field while covering the HS season. It’s time we highlight another group of players, the seventh this season:
Sprayberry has immediately become an important starter in a strong Tompkins team that just advanced to the area round of the playoffs. A player with solid technical and physical skills, she has the ability to play in a variety of different positions. I’ve watched her play right and center midfield with great efficiency, doing solid defensive work and displaying good quality on the ball. Sprayberry is also a very intelligent player, who makes good decisions under pressure and is very effective with her positioning on the field.

Ella Bizzell
Bizzell has developed into a larger role with Jordan during the season and is now a key piece in the team’s midfield. She plays with great energy in front of the team’s backline and is very good at putting pressure on opponents and stepping up to cover her teammates when they’re beaten. Bizzell is very quick in her mind and is very capable of helping the team progress the ball up in the field with smart passes, which often ignite dangerous transition plays. She also has a good presence in the attacking half, finishing from distance and infiltrating into the penalty box.
Boedecker is one of several freshmen who earned important roles with Tomball Memorial this season. She plays in a key position for them as a defensive midfielder and is very active defensively, winning duels and covering ground with tremendous efficiency. Boedecker is also heavily involved when the Lady Wildcats have possession as her precise and intelligent passing helps them circulate the ball and break opposing backlines. The midfielder is very technical and finishes with great accuracy from long distance.
Atascocita is another team heavily relying on freshmen this season and Reich has been one of the most productive of them. With over 20 goals scored, the center forward is the focal point of the team’s offense and has been extremely successful at creating chances and finding the back of the net. Reich is a physical player, who is very good at getting on the end of long balls, but also has the skills to beat defenders off the dribble. She plays in midfield in her club team and also knows how to drop deeper and help the team’s chance creation.

Ingram has split time between A&M Consolidated’s varsity and junior varsity teams this season and has been able to show interesting skills and the ability to play at the highest level. She plays the striker role, but stands out with her mobility, getting into a lot of different spots in the final third to help the team create chances with combination plays. Ingram has excellent positioning inside the penalty box and is a technical and accurate finisher, who can send the ball into the back of the net with either foot. She plays with a lot of energy and has a little bit of a chip on her shoulder that most strikers need to perform.
