Having the Toyota Soccer Center and the MoneyGram Soccer Park as venues, the ECNL Dallas event will have as many as 210 club teams competing in five different age groups and Prep Soccer Texas will be in attendance all three days, following the action closely and bringing daily reports.

Unsurprisingly, Texas will have massive representation in the event, with as many as 54 teams getting in action - [program_tooltip program_id='278052' first='Albion' last='Hurricanes FC'], Challenge SC, [program_tooltip program_id='278665' first='Classics' last='Elite'] SA, [program_tooltip program_id='278678' first='Dallas' last='Texans'], DKSC, FC Dallas, [program_tooltip program_id='278668' first='Lonestar' last=''] SC, Solar SC, Sting Austin, Sting Black and Sting Royal will all have teams competing.

The elite of Texas Girls Club soccer will be in Dallas and we would like to highlight some names to keep an eye on before the event begins. This time we'll feature the center backs:

Fregoso will appear for the FC Dallas 10 team that will meet the Michigan Hawks Magic, SLSG Green and Eclipse Select in this weekend's event. The fact that she made it to the varsity roster of defending champions Prosper, who are loaded with excellent defensive players, already tells a thing or two about her potential. Despite being very young, Fregoso was a well-developed game and can be a nightmare to even the most talented attacking players in the state. Standing at 5'11", she can dominate most of her opponents physically, which she unceremoniously does, but she's also extremely mobile and can keep up with anyone in a foot race. The center back is also very calm and confident on the ball, not hesitating to connect line-breaking passes when she sees an opportunity.

Butcher will anchor the backline of the DKSC 09 team that is set to face FC Wisconsin, Washington Premier and PDA White over the next few days. Also capable os playing as a defensive midfielder, she plays hard without the ball and is never afraid to go for a sliding tackle. One of Butcher's main skills as a defensive player is her ability to put pressure on opponents, which makes of her an excellent stopper inside and around the penalty box, but also very effective when she has to defend higher up on the field. She also has tremendous quality on the ball, using both feet to connect passes and even to finish from distance.

Lawless will appear with the [program_tooltip program_id='278052' first='Albion' last='Hurricanes FC'] 09 team that will compete against Eclipse Select, San Diego Surf and Seattle United in Dallas. She's been a stud in their backline for some years now and her game has continued to develop in the period. Lawless is extremely athletic and she uses that to her advantage, but there's a lot more to like in her defensive game, including her ability to read the game, her mobility and her firmness when tackling opponents. She typically plays as a right-sided center back and does good work in helping initiate their buildup. Lawless is also very strong in the air and typically appears well on both penalty boxes.

Liner and her Sting Royal 08 team will have Eastside FC, Richmond United and Eclipse Select as their opponents this weekend in Dallas. With her and Tylle Grimer, the team has one of the best center back duos in the age group as the two are very strong in every aspect of defense. A six-footer, Liner can dominate most opponents with her physicality, but she thrives in reading plays and intercepting passes. She also does an excellent job of defending inside the penalty box, benefiting from her size to clear crosses. The center back also has impressive calm and quality in possession and is comfortable to dribble and pass out of the back.

Jaeger will be with the Sting Austin 07/06 team that will be challenged by La Roca FC, Oregon Surf and Minnesota Thunder in the showcase. A tall and athletic defender, she dominates the penalty box and is very good at clearing crosses. Jaeger also has superior mobility and is not at a disadvantage when she's dragged away from the penalty box and has to defend in space, using her great positioning to get in the way of opponents who try to beat her. Her left foot is very skilled and allows her to make an impact in the team's buildup with accurate short and long passes connected out of the back. Also keep an eye for her dangerous corner kicks out of the right, which often force opposing goalkeepers into difficult saves.
