Who Cracked the Rankings? New ECNL Additions in 2027 ClassTitle

<p>The Prep Soccer state rankings for California's 2027 class was updated last week. Check out <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2025/05/updated-2027-california-girl-rankings-3/">the rankings here</a>. Learn more <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/how-we-rank/">about the ranking process here</a>. </p>   <p>Below is a scouting report on some of the ECNL players who are new to the rankings with this update. </p>    <p>Porrata is a midfielder on the Eagles 09 ECNL team. She is part of the West Region ODP team. Porrata can also play in the attack as a forward. </p>   <p>Profile-wise, she is more a box-to-box midfielder. Mindset-wise, she is more of an attacking midfielder. She's been a prolific scorer for Eagles. She doesn't always have the flashiest goals, but she is an efficient finisher and puts the ball away. </p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Porrata isn't the most overwhelming prospect in this class in her physical attributes, but the midfielder's playmaking qualities should impress any scout. She has previous experience playing attacking midfielder as well. She is five-foot-10 and right footed. The ceiling is pretty high for her at outside back. She's got the physical profile to match the rigors of the college game. She's an excellent 1v1 defender. She uses her body well in the tackle and shows off her strength in holding off the opposition once she gains possession of the ball. </p>   <p>Her playmaking quality from her previous experiences an attacking midfielder will also be an asset as an outside back. She could improve on her speed of play. There are some wasted touches - times when she takes an extra touch when on the run into the attack or small touches when gaining control of the ball. </p>   <p class="text-gray-700">If she continues to hone that side of her game, she should be viewed as an early contributor for the college level. Her defensive instincts and work rate are superb. She has put on game film her 1v1 defending against some of the best attacking talent in the 2026 and 2027 class. She plays for Mustang SC in the ECNL. </p>   <p>Henzi is five-foot-eight with excellent hands, good diving technique, and solid distribution. She is more likely to launch the ball quickly with a throw than most of the other keepers in this class. </p>   <p>She's had some highlight-reel saves this season between high school and club. She's got the altheticism to pull off game-winning saves. </p>   <p>Henzi could improve on her conviction in coming off the line. She will often take a half-step and then retreat when she second guesses if she can get to the ball. The delay is evident on crosses and balls over the top of the defense. </p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Combining the athleticism with quick reflexes and secure hands, Henzi has the talent to be considered among the best goalkeepers in California. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4aTwkg-y6Y </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Luong is a midfielder on the [program_tooltip program_id='278033' first='MVLA' last='ECNL'] 09 team. She has a good first touch, quick feet, and a scrappiness to her game. Luong doesn't always take on a spotlight with her club team, but she's got the qualities to get on the radar for all scouts. </p>   <p>There is a part of her game that makes me wonder if she could be viewed as an outside back prospect. She's excellent defensively as a midfielder. The tenacity in the tackle and willingness to throw her body into the challenge shines bright as a defender. She stays with her mark and keeps touch tight. </p>   <p>Luong's best quality is on the ball. She has playmaking qualities. She provides the key pass often. She is also part of the PDP State Team. She plays on the Dougherty Valley Varsity Team. </p>   <p>I didn't catch De Guzman from the games in Phoenix, but she was a bright spot for her team during the previous ECNL National Event in December. She is a skillful dribbler and keeps close control of the ball under pressure. There is a moment from the event in St. Louis when she is fouled multiple times in a 10 second window where almost any other player would've stopped playing and just enjoyed the free kick. De Guzman seemed to take a lot of joy in the fact the opponent still couldn't stop her even though they were grabbing and kicking her. </p>   <p>Mustang SC 09 will be taking part in the Showcase Cup as part of the ECNL postseason. Scouts would be wise to observe the Northern California squad in June. </p>
