Boys US Soccer Talent ID Center Norcal Standouts

After the hottest day of the year in the Bay Area the temperature cooled and provided some amazing conditions to play ball for these 2012 and 2011 born players to strut their stuff in front of US scouts. Clubs from all over the Bay Area were represented. The SF Glen's hosted this event at their beautiful new facility on Treasure Island. There was some excellent talent on hand with a handful of standouts who have put themselves in a great position for a call back. Only around 10% of these kids will get a call back for the next round and here are the ones who I think have the best chance to do so.    Del Toro was the most impressive player from the two age groups. He played Left Back and I don't remember him losing an offensive or defensive duel the entire time. He has an excellent left foot and a great feel for the game. If I was to bet on any kid making it to the next phase from this group it would be Del Toro.     Excellent showing for the young [program_tooltip program_id='283732' first='Sacramento' last='Republic'] prospect. He won a ton of aerial duels and showed excellent decision making on the ball. His physical gifts are apparent tall and a very fluid mover for such an early growth spurt. He has good technique and excellent timing on his tackles.     Brasfield balled out and put himself in an excellent spot moving forward. He was one of the few players who was organizing and coaching his teammates from his defensive midfield role, showing his competitive spirit/motor. He was excellent in possession and an exceptional ball winner especially considering he is on the smaller side. His ability to read the game and plan ahead really caught my eye. As a late developer it will be difficult for him to get chosen during this cycle but once he starts to mature the sky is the limit for this young prospect.     Drolette had the most impressive performance from the 2011 age group. The central midfielder did it all when he was on the field offensively, defensively, and in transition. He has great instincts and feel for the game. Knowing when to keep the ball moving side to side or make a penetrating ball. He can slow the tempo down and speed it up in a flash. He has an excellent athletic profile as well and has put himself in fantastic position for a call back.     The superstar Earthquakes talent showed why there is so much hype around him as he was playing on the left wing. The ball always seemed to find him. He wasn't as dominant as I have seen him in the past but still a class above the rest. I will be utterly shocked if he wasn't called back.     Shang had an excellent showing and has really improved since he moving from [program_tooltip program_id='283257' first='Bay' last='Area Surf'] to the Earthquakes Academy. His decision making is top notch and you can't really tell if he's left or right footed. He is so good on the half-turn and the weight he plays through balls with is exceptional. Great athlete and transitions really quickly top player with endless potential.     The little guy showed his technical class out there against his much larger opponents. Probably the smallest kid in the two age groups Villa has some of the fastest footwork I've seen in this age group. He finds pockets really well and his tight space dribbling is really fun to watch. Being such a late developer he has an outside chance of getting a call back but surely one for the US Scouts to circle and monitor in the future.     Tucker is an absolute handful to deal with for opposition defenders. He is certainly not scared of contact and runs the channels very well. Very solid with his hold up play and showed his finishing ability in the game as well as small sided. He reminds me of Steven Lenhart the legendary [program_tooltip program_id='283736' first='San' last='Jose Earthquakes'] striker. I think he has an outside chance of getting a call back but definitely one to keep an eye on moving forward.
