Dynamo U14 score seven on SAFC B12 ahead of season's start

The club soccer season officially kicked off last week, but preseason matches continue to pop up around Texas every weekend. These matches are great opportunities to watch teams in the early days of the new season and also offer an interesting perspective as clubs from different leagues go against each other.   On Saturday, August 30, Prep Soccer Texas was in attendance when MLS Next side [program_tooltip program_id='283657' first='Houston' last='Dynamo'] U14 hosted ECNL opponents [program_tooltip program_id='283458' first='San' last='Antonio FC'] B12 at the Houston Sports Park. Dominant from start to finish, the Dynamo won 7-0, ending their preseason preparations on a high.   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2025/09/tx-preseason-houston-dynamo-u14-vs-san-antonio-fc-b12/">Photos: [program_tooltip program_id='283657' first='Houston' last='Dynamo'] U14 vs. [program_tooltip program_id='283458' first='San' last='Antonio FC'] B12 </a></li> </ul>   Defender Manuel Vasquez got the home team on the board in the fifth minute, picking up a rebound after a corner kick to score. Seven minutes later, a beautiful passing exchange from the home team found forward Lucas Moscon de Oliveira open to finish to an open net. At the 37th minute, Oliveira assisted midfielder Eduardo Iglesias, who scored the third with a powerful shot. The Dynamo got another one before the halftime break, at the 40th-minute mark, with Oliveira scoring his second goal, this time assisted by midfielder Ryu Roberts.   The home team got going in the second half at the 25th minute, when forward Kevin Juares dispossessed an opponent in the attacking half and scored. At the 37th minute, Ryu picked up the rebound of a free kick and found the back of the net with a well-placed right-footed shot. The home team scored for the seventh and final time at the 39th minute, when forward [player_tooltip player_id='295641' first='Aariz' last='Syed'] got first to a rebound inside the penalty box and tapped it in.   The Dynamo will start their MLS Next campaign at home on Saturday, September 6, against [program_tooltip program_id='283654' first='Global' last='Football Innovation Academy']. On the same day, [program_tooltip program_id='283458' first='San' last='Antonio FC'] will visit Solar SC Academy in their ECNL debut - the team will also play Solar SC on Sunday, September 7.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Players of the Match</h2>    With two goals and an assist, Oliveira made a big impact in the match, providing the Dynamo with a lot of firepower in the front line. The forward, who joined the team near the end of the last season, coming from the [program_tooltip program_id='283658' first='Houston' last='Rangers'], played more to the right side of the team's attack and was very dangerous when he got on the ball, doing a great job of beating opponents off the dribble and bringing it inside, and playing with great intensity. Oliveira also combined very well with his teammates, intelligently moving off the ball and making great decisions in the final third. He appeared in great spots inside the penalty box to finish chances and was very calm in front of the goal.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2025/08/2J4A0120_249817.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-318651" /></figure>    Iglesias was a stud in central midfield for the Dynamo, getting heavily involved in the team's game and achieving a very high efficiency level in his actions. His intensity level and competitiveness helped his team control that area of the field, paving the way for their dominant performance. Iglesias passed the ball very well and was excellent at driving it forward, at times making strong runs through the middle and on other occasions pushing it down the right to get to the end line and make crosses. The midfielder also did a good job of joining the attack to finish from long and mid-range and, in one of those plays, scored the team's third goal.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2025/08/2J4A0099_840b78.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-318641" /></figure>    A new face with the team, having joined from the [program_tooltip program_id='283658' first='Houston' last='Rangers'], Vasquez had a solid shift for the Dynamo in their last preseason match. He started the match at left back and offered a lot offensively for the team early in the match, scoring their first goal by showing great positioning inside the penalty box in a corner kick and initiating the buildup that resulted in the team's second goal. Vasquez continued to push forward and made good plays out wide, intelligently combining with his teammates and overlapping on the left. He moved to central defense during the second half and used his positioning to shut down transition attempts made by [program_tooltip program_id='283458' first='San' last='Antonio FC'] while also strengthening his team's buildup.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2025/08/2J4A0112_36905a.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-318646" /></figure>    Syed was an excellent attacking partner for Oliveira as the two worked very well off each other to make plays and create chances for the Dynamo. The forward kept his level of play very consistent throughout the match and showed an interesting ability to hurt [program_tooltip program_id='283458' first='San' last='Antonio FC']'s backline in a variety of ways. A physical forward, Syed worked very well with his back to the goal, but also thrived when making runs behind the backline or on the wings, and also displayed great footwork to beat opponents in tight spaces. The forward benefited from his excellent positioning to score an 'easy' goal in the final minutes and complete a very good performance.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2025/08/2J4A0122.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-318652" /></figure>    Hasnine played everywhere across the backline for the Dynamo and had a strong game for them. He was very solid defensively, keeping his energy level high during the entire match and displaying great ability to read plays and make interceptions, as well as strong defensive plays. Hasnine also displayed good ability going forward when used at right back at the start of the match, constantly appearing in the attacking half and getting involved in good combination plays.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2025/08/2J4A0144_3b2284.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-318659" /></figure>    Garcia played a central midfielder for [program_tooltip program_id='283458' first='San' last='Antonio FC'] and helped his team get some relief from the Dynamo's pressure with his ability to keep and move the ball. He was always very lucid when he had the ball, finding teammates in good spots and beating opponents in tight spaces, rarely wasting possession. Garcia also dropped back to support the center backs in the team's buildup on some occasions and did a good job of efficiently getting the ball upfield. He started the match as a wide midfielder and had some good moments by making runs and attacking the space behind the Dynamo backline. A lefty, he also showed good quality on the ball and, on some occasions, came inside to be more involved in the team's playmaking.
