Five Forwards to Know in the Updated Texas 2026 Girls Rankings

<p>After some months, the Prep Soccer 2026 Texas Girls State Ranking was updated last week, with new players being added to the prestigious list that features only the best of the best in the Lone Star State and the existing ones having their positions adjusted.</p>   <p>The ranking will continue to be consistently updated so it accurately reflects the progress achieved by players over time and presents a clear picture of the Texas landscape, always having in mind each prospect's potential to make an impact at the next level.</p>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><strong><a href="https://prepsoccer.com/texas/rankings/girls/2026-rankings/">Texas 2026 Girls State Rankings</a></strong></li> </ul>   <p>The updated Texas 2026 Girls State Rankings now feature 221 players from every corner of the Lone Star State, and we're taking the week to present you with some of the most intriguing names that made the list.</p>   <p>After covering every other position, today we focus on the forwards:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Chaump is the second-highest-ranked forward in the Rankings and is listed in fifth-place overall. She goes to school at Lake Highlands in the Dallas area, and is one of the top players on the Sting Royal U19 team in the ECNL league. Chaump's well-rounded skillset allows her to make an impact in a lot of different ways in teh final third, and she's very intelligent when it comes to understanding what the match requires and delivering it. She is a constant threat when used on the wings, as her pace and dribbling ability make her beat defenders out wide more often than not. Chaump is an excellent finisher, which shows more when she plays centrally, but also stands out for her ability to create for her teammates. She's part of the Lancaster High School varsity team and one of the offensive weapons of Solar SC U19 in the ECNL league. A striker, Beck is the type of player that coaches love to build their offenses around because of her ability to both create and convert chances at a very high level. She uses her physical tools extremely well and has a game-changing ability when working with her back to the goal, either creating space for her to score or finding teammates with well-timed passes behind the backline. Beck also thrives with her positioning inside the penalty box, consistently getting into good spots to finish chances.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Kamiya_Beck/status/1771779239823507924/ </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Coombs was ranked tenth among the Texas Class of 2026 forwards and appears in 26th place overall in the Lone Star State. She's the top player in her high school team Tompkins, and also has a major role in the HTX U19 team that won the Girls Academy league national title earlier this year. She's extremely versatile, being capable of playing on either wing or more centrally, as a second forward, and will thrive anywhere she's put, thanks to her quality on the ball and dynamic style of play. Coombs is very difficult to stop when she gets going and, because of her ability to dribble, pass and finish with either foot, her runs often end in goals or assists. He plays high school soccer for Hillcrest in the Dallas area and is part of BVB International Academy U19 in the Girls Academy league. Martinez has a solid combination of physical and technical tools, and she does a great job with off-the-ball movement as she pushes to get involved in attacking plays. A long-legged forward, she thrives when she drops back to get on the ball and make strong runs through the middle, which almost every time end with a shot on target. Martinez also has a good presence inside the penalty box and has a knack for getting on the end of crosses.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Walter stood out as the 26th-best Class of 2026 forward in Texas and is inside the best 100 players in the state, appearing in 94th place. She plays for A&M Consolidated High School in the Houston area and is part of [program_tooltip program_id='283282' first='Challenge' last='SC'] U19 in the ECNL league. Walter is a dynamic attacking player who uses her technical skills to create chances and is very direct with her approach to the game in the final third. She can also play centrally, but is probably at her best when used on the left wing, where she has better angles to connect diagonal passes and from where she can bring the ball inside to finish with her preferred right foot.
