Five Midfielders to Know in the Updated Texas 2026 Girls Rankings

<p>After some months, the Prep Soccer 2026 Texas Girls State Ranking was updated last week, with new players being added to the prestigious list that features only the best of the best in the Lone Star State and the existing ones having their positions adjusted.</p>   <p>The ranking will continue to be consistently updated so it accurately reflects the progress achieved by players over time and presents a clear picture of the Texas landscape, always having in mind each prospect's potential to make an impact at the next level.</p>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><strong><a href="https://prepsoccer.com/texas/rankings/girls/2026-rankings/">Texas 2026 Girls State Rankings</a></strong></li> </ul>   <p>The updated Texas 2026 Girls State Rankings now feature 221 players from every corner of the Lone Star State, and we're taking the week to present you with some of the most intriguing names that made the list.</p>   <p>As we continue to move upfield, it's time we get to midfield:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Traub is the top-ranked midfielder in the Rankings and appears inside the top five overall, in fourth place. She's a standout for Plano West and one of the best players in the incredibly strong [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas'] U19 team that competes in the ECNL league. Usually deployed in front of the team's backline, she makes a tremendous impact in the game with her superior quality. Traub wears the team's No. 10 jersey, and that's because she operates as such, even if from a deeper region of the field. Her passing is always intelligent and decisive, and few are the matches in which she doesn't get involved in the team's scoring efforts. She thrives in the private high school athletic system with Parish Episcopal and is a pillar for the Solar SC U19 team in the ECNL league. Johnson anchors her team's game from central midfield, making a significant impact on both sides of the ball. The midfielder shows great determination when playing defense, cutting passing lanes efficiently and playing with firmness every time she has to make a play for the ball. She plays for Parish Episcopal at the high school level and is part of the strong Sting Royal U19 team in the ECNL league. Sting stands out as a team for their intensity and ball movement and Henard plays a big role in it, helping pull the strings from midfield. She moves very well off the ball, always offering a passing option to her teammates, and is even better when in possession, doing a great job of holding on to the ball in the center of the field and moving it around with great intelligence. She's a three-time high school state champion with Ursuline Academy and a key piece in the [program_tooltip program_id='283311' first='Dallas' last='Texans'] U19 team in the ECNL league. She can play different roles in midfield, but is probably at her best when placed out wide, thanks to her ability to support her team's offense with on and off-the-ball runs. Marquez also hits the ball very well with her right foot, being a threat in shots from distance and in set pieces.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Saludares appears in 23rd place among the midfielders in the Rankings and is listed as the 72nd-best prospect in Texas in the age group. She plays club soccer for HTX U19 and was part of the squad that won the Girls Academy league national title last March. A Philippine youth international, she's a technical and creative attacking midfielder who serves as a hub for her team's offense. Saludares works very well in tight spaces, using quick body moves to beat defenders, and is very direct with her game, rarely passing the ball or dribbling it towards her own field.
