Top 10 Goalkeepers in Prep Soccer National 2028 Ranking

Below is a scouting report on the top 10 ranked goalkeepers in the class.     Barrett is a member of the US U16 Girls National Team. She was named ECNL Girls Texas All-Conference last season. She plays her club soccer for [program_tooltip program_id='283481' first='Solar' last='Soccer Club']. She has also taken part in Professional Pathway ID events with NWSL clubs. She is the top ranked player at her position in this class and should have a number of suitors among college scouts. She has the physical profile to be a star in the role. She's athletic with quick reflexes and secure hands. She's right footed and has consistently improved with her distribution. Barrett has earned the opportunity to play with older Solar teams in the past. She's shown mental toughness and a competitive drive to thrive in those high pressure situations. Barrett has the characteristics of a player who could develop into a star at the professional level as a goalkeeper.      Hasan is a member of the US U16 Girls National Team. She is one of the highest risers in the National Ranking with this update. Hasan has a lot of strong attributes to her game, but the aspect that means the most recently is how she has seizes opportunities and made the most of every chance she's been given. She's playing with a lot of confidence now. She is reading the game well and showing the instincts to command her team. She is playing off her line and cutting off the pass over the top of the defense. She has the athleticism to prevent getting chipped on shots from distance too. She has secure hands and is excellent on crosses. Hasan has the tools to be considered among the best of the best in this position.      Newcome is a goalkeeper on the Charlotte Soccer Academy ECNL team. She was named to the ECNL Mid-Atlantic All-Conference team. She's been part of US Soccer Youth National Team camps in the past. Newcome is a goalkeeper with game-saving qualities. She is a tall, physically imposing, vocal player in that role. Newcome's technique is a bit different that the other top ranked goalkeepers. Her hands stay in the ready position and she drifts a bit when tracking the ball from side to side before the cross or attempt. However, she makes the save when called on and is in the right spot for the play every time. Newcome's decision-making is a strength of her game in distribution. She's quick to find outlets and her team benefits from the precision of her passing.      Braun is a member of the US U17 Women's Youth National Team. She has also taken part in Professional Pathway ID events for NWSL clubs. She is the starting goalkeeper for the ECNL National Champions, MVLA 09. She is six-feet tall, quick reflexes, and fiercely competitive. Braun's ability to make late adjustments on shots was a key feature during the ECNL playoffs last season. She saved a few games with her play. The stellar recent run of play has her rising up the rankings at the state and national level. Braun is a name that will attract the interest of scouts from every top program thanks to the Youth National Team background. She should be a player who starts at a top program early in her career. She's shown the game-winning ability to shift the outcome against even the best competition.      Gaffney is an ECNL All-American and part of the US Soccer Youth National Team. She is the goalkeeper for the Real Colorado 2010 ECNL team. She is the only left footed goalkeeper in the top five of our rankings. She is also the best at ball tracking and moving her feet to get her body behind the shot. Gaffney doesn't put a ton of crazy saves on game film, but it comes down to the work she does before the shot. She's an expert at her positioning. She cuts off angles and shows perfect technique with her shot stopping. She rarely leaves a rebound thanks to that diligent approach prior to the shot. Gaffney is quick to make decisions with her distribution and loves to spring the attack with a long throw to an outlet.      Carrillo is an ECNL All-American and a multi-sport athlete. Carrillo is a star of the Beach FC ECNL program. She was an ECNL All-American in the 2010 age group last season. She is playing with the Beach FC 09 team this year. She recently led them to a pair of shutouts and an undefeated weekend at the ECNL Phoenix event - it looks like she is well on her way to more honors at the club level in the future. She is very confident with the ball at her feet and Beach utilizes her as a way to swing the ball from side to side or an outlet when under pressure. She plays pretty far off her line and looks comfortable in that role. The ideal next step in her career would be a possession-dominant program that relies on the goalkeeper decision-making and also highlights her constant focus as her team tends to hold long spells of ball possession. Carrillo is a good shot-stopper with excellent assets in a number of fields. She's a good diver and can pull off a highlight reel save when called upon. Her cross-sport experience has helped her hand strength and raised her ceiling even higher for potential.      Simpson is a goalkeeper for Bethesda SC 2010 ECNL. She has been part of US Soccer Talent ID events over the past two years. She is five-foot-nine, athletic, and lightning quick. Simpson's provided more highlight reel saves than almost any other keeper in this class. She is fearless, which is a key trait for the position. She will throw her body in front of any shot. She has been excellent at getting finger tip saves - both in aerial dives and when diving on the ground for a last minute block on an effort. Simpson's shown the quality at the ECNL level to be considered an elite difference-maker for the position.      Hoffman is a goalkeeper on the Beadling 2010 Girls Academy team. She was part of the US Soccer U14 Girls National ID Camp in 2024 and part of the Girls Academy National ID roster in the same year. She has been called into US Soccer Talent ID events too. Hoffman is our top ranked goalkeeper from the Girls Academy. She is excellent at high pointing the ball on crosses and has secure hands to pluck it out of the air in traffic. She is not the tallest keeper in this class, but she can cover the whole goal with her diving ability and extending one-hand saves. Hoffman is a talent to watch from the Girls Academy.      Higgins is part of the US Youth National Team and was named to the ECNL Northwest All-Conference. Higgins plays for Pacific Northwest in the ECNL. She is a goalkeeper for the future, but has experience on the field as well. Higgins is five-foot-six, secure hands, and athletic. Higgins has impressed at the club and international level. She is a dependable player and a leader. Her ability to fly through the air to make saves sets her apart from her peers. Higgins should continue to be one of the top prospects in this class as she develops her game and prepares for the next step in her career.      Fischer is a member of the US U17 Women's Youth National Team. She plays for [program_tooltip program_id='283326' first='Eclipse' last='Select'] in the ECNL. She has a really strong well-rounded game. The biggest compliment to Fischer is that it takes something special to beat her in goal. Her ability to secure the ball in traffic is a strong asset of her game. Fischer is a talent that has continued to rise in the past year, and could be one of the rapid risers heading into the Spring as the recruiting race heats up for the 2028 class.
