Seven Lakes got their opening goal inside the first minute of action, after senior defender Jasper Schneefuss sent a low cross into the box and senior midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='90220' first='Gael' last='Gonzalez'] got to the end of it to score. The match was even until the 15th minute of the second half, when Taylor's senior defender Cesar Reynoso was sent off after fouling Seven Lakes' senior midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='90419' first='Anthony' last='Sorto'] on the edge of the box.

The Mustangs resisted for another 20 minutes, but conceded in the 38th minute, when senior midfielder David Aguillon was given the ball inside the box and chipped it over Taylor's diving goalkeeper. The Spartans got a couple of goals in added time, with forward Kaigo Ishizuki picking up the rebound of a shot and scoring with a header and Sorto finding the back of the net with a cross shot from the left.

Seven Lakes now have 28 points at the top of the standings, with a campaign of nine wins and a tie. Taylor are second in the district with 21 points - six wins, two losses and three ties.

The senior midfielder was Seven Lakes' most consistently dangerous attacking player and helped set up several of their best plays in the final third. Aguillon played more to the right side of the team's offense and showed great chemistry with outside back Jasper Schneefuss, setting him up to assist in the team's first goal with an accurate through ball. He distributed the ball well and consistently found pockets of space to explore on the right side of the attack, scoring his goal in one of those plays, when he also showed calm and composure in front of the goal. Aguillon also showed good energy to play defense, tracking back quickly and helping occupy the center of the field.

After a somewhat slow first half, the senior midfielder was much more active in the second part of the match, being a valuable offensive weapon for the Spartans. Sorto made good plays on the left side of his team's attack, and in one of them, he drew the foul that generated Reynoso's ejection, which created a significant advantage for the Spartans in what was a very close match. He assisted Aguillon to score the team's second goal with a well-weighted pass and set up other teammates in the final third. Sorto did a good job of exploring the space offered by Taylor at the end of the match and had good plays on the left, scoring the team's fourth and last goal in one of them.

The senior was very solid at outside back for the Spartans, delivering quality and intensity on the right side of the field for them. Schneefus consistently overlapped on the right side of the team's attack and was successful at getting to the end line, assisting Gonzalez to score the first goal, and having some more dangerous crosses. He ran the field up and down the entire time and also delivered nice long, diagonal passes, which helped Seven Lakes stretch the field and explore their advantage in the second half. Schneefus also did well defensively, recovering many balls in his own half and quickly tracking back to stop transition plays.

The senior midfielder had a great start to the match, doing a great job of crashing into the box to get on the end of a cross and score the team's first goal in the match. Gonzalez played on the left side of the midfield and combined very well with the players around him, giving them the ball and moving to get it back. He took great care of the ball, passing it intelligently and beating defenders with quick moves to keep possession. Gonzalez also did a good job of playing his defensive role with the team, helping close the space on the left and getting some tackles and interceptions.

The focal point of Seven Lakes' attack, the senior forward did well with his movement in the final third, creating space for his teammates to explore. Niemeyer worked well with his back to the goal, quickly playing the ball back to a teammate, and also made good runs behind the backline. He fought hard for possession in the final third, winning some duels and helping set up dangerous attacking plays. Niemeyer also did well when he dropped deeper to get on the ball, making intelligent switches that found his team's wide players in good spots.

The senior led Taylor's backline with great efficiency and helped them hold Seven Lakes to only one goal for the majority of the match - in fact, he had been taken off when the last three goals were scored. Ramirez started the match on the left side of the Mustangs' back three and showed good mobility to defend in space. He moved to the center still during the first half and also did well there, dominating in the air, getting important tackles and blocking shots just outside the box. Ramirez also communicated very well with his teammates, providing some vocal leadership from the back.

Playing as an attacking midfielder, the sophomore was involved in Taylor's best attacking plays during the match. Sanchez Moreno used his dribbling ability to create space in the center of the field and passed the ball extremely well. He delivered an incredible through ball to senior midfielder Luke Shirley in the first half, but saw Seven Lakes' goalkeeper stop his shot. With Taylor down a man for most of the second half, Sanchez Moreno had less help to make things happen offensively, but he continued to attempt to make plays with some success.
