US Club Soccer id2 West Roster - Players to Watch

San Diego Surf and Slammers HB Koge sit at the top of the standings in the ECNL 2012 Southwest Conference. They are also the favorites for the National Championship this summer. It should come as little surprise the two clubs are well represented this week at the US Club Soccer id2 National Talent ID event in Chula Vista. The event features 102 girls representing 56 clubs from 22 states.    Bethea is a center forward on the Slammers HB Koge ECNL side. She previously played for So Cal Blues. She is a dominant player at the youth level. She can score in a variety of ways and continues to improve her craft with each game. Bethea's got the pace to get in behind the defense, but she also has the engine to make lung-busting runs in the final moments of a game. She's an excellent finisher on her right and has superb composure in front of the goal. Bethea is going to benefit from this talented West squad.     Green is a midfielder on the talented San Diego Surf squad. She's a box-to-box midfielder with the versatility to play in a variety of roles. She also has the athletic qualities to shine in any spot on the field. Green has impressed this season and been a key piece of the Surf side. She is always popping up in the right spot in the key moments. She's tactically brilliant, technically gifted, and ultra competitive. This is an environment that she should thrive in.     Gonzalez is one of the top goalkeepers in the state and gets the spotlight at the id2 event. She has been outstanding for So Cal Blues this season. She's quick off her line, fearless into the challenge, and displays excellent technique for the position. Gonzalez is an exceptional shot-stopper. She's capable of making the game-deciding play. Gonzalez and Colbie German should be the goalkeeper a strong point for the West squad.     Magtanong is an outside back on the San Diego Surf 2012 ECNL team. She is a strong two-way player. She plays right back. She is an excellent 1v1 defender. She is comfortable on the ball. She plays with her head up and shows excellent vision in her passing. She likes to cut inside when in the attack and create from the center.
