McGrath is a center forward who impressed during the event for a variety of reasons. The main takeaway I had from watching her is that there is no quit in her game. McGrath was going full speed, full intensity from the start of the event until the final whistle.

On a hot day, her level of commitment and effort at the end of the game certainly stood out. She was generating chances for herself and for her teammates. McGrath is an elite playmaker who shined on the day.

Aside from her unique hairstyle, which is undoubtedly intriguing, she was all business when it came down to the technical skills portion. I really liked her finishing technique, as she showed her range and ability to take high-percentage shots on goal. Kensington’s quick cutbacks and ability to read the defense allowed her to find open pockets and make runs to the 18 for timed tap-in-cribs and take on the defense in 1v1s and 1v2s. She’s a top-level player we will be hearing a lot about in the near future. As a captain and leader on her Surf team, she led her team to back-to-back ECNL National Championships in 2025 and 2026. Hoping to see her get an invite to the Red, White, and Blue sometime in the near future.

Kensington is a powerhouse on the pitch. In the ECNL Championship match versus Slammers FC HB Koge ECNL G12, she overpowered her opponents with creative footwork, touch passes and striking authority. It was difficult to contain her, and she wasn’t about to let anyone try. McGrath sports the flashy hair and attitude but backs it up with her relentless physicality and skill. Kensington earned her way onto the Best XI list because you couldn’t help but realize that the success of that championship match was reliant on her ability to make plays happen. Pulled the strings in midfield today for her San Diego Surf side that cruised to a 5-1 win and into the Quarters tomorrow. She always wants the ball and has excellent angles/timing with her runs. It’s usually 1 or 2 touch from her and she does a great job at progressing the ball forward.

She is so clever with her movement and pops up in pockets that make the defense have to adjust on the fly. She was quick to impact the game on Monday with her play in the final third. 

One of the top attackers in her class, McGrath is a constant threat in the final third. Finding the back of the net is something she makes look easy. This weekend she scored by using her shifting ability to avoid traffic, find space, and tap the ball into the net. Her awareness in tight areas allows her to create chances even when defenders collapse around her. In addition, her consistency in finishing makes her a reliable option whenever the team needs a goal. If you don’t know McGrath yet, get familiar with the name, she’s quickly proving herself as one to watch.

McGrath is a forward on the San Diego Surf 2012 ECNL team. She’s one of the most prolific scorers in ECNL. She always finds a way to score. She has pace, skill, and strength. McGrath was one of the top performers for her team during the ECNL playoffs last season. She has been just as good to start this season. She can play on the wing or through the center. She’s decisive with her actions and gets in on goal with conviction. She’s an efficient finisher. McGrath was the star player on a National Championship team last season and continues to prove she’s among the best forwards in this class.
