Standouts from Prep Soccer Girls ID Camp: SoCal 2026

<p><strong>To say that the Prep Soccer Girls ID Camps were successful at both venues would be considered an understatement.  The sheer volume of technically skilled players, paired with top-level training and coaches, is what made these events a success.</strong></p>   <p><strong>USE THE PROMO CODE almasin30 for a discount on your first subscription</strong></p>   <p>The SoCal event at the [program_tooltip program_id='283671' first='LA' last='Galaxy'] Sports Complex in Torrance, CA, was definitely one of the must-attend camps in the Southern California region.  In my previous article, I noted that the multilevel support systems in SoCal can be seen as a model for producing the talented players getting to the top-levels of youth and professional soccer.</p>   <p>Most recently, an article by ImYouthSoccer noted that the combined Orange County (94) and San Diego (58) had the highest total for Division 1 girls committed at 152 players.  The city of Dallas had the overall largest at 94, with OC at 74.  Up in Northern California, where I'm from, the city of San Jose produced 50 Division 1 players and was ranked as the 12th largest city.</p>   <p>Back to our SoCal ID Camp, a lot of these talented players who stepped up and made a name for themselves are either players we've previously identified or some who definitely put themselves on scouts' and coaches' radar.  I'm sure that this group of players in attendance will be players we will be seeing on a future Division 1 count list.</p>   <p>This is part 1 of my standouts; lead scout JR Eskilson also has a list of standout players.  Standout players for this first edition were:</p>   <p>1. I really liked her finishing technique, as she showed her range and ability to take high-percentage shots on goal. Kensington's quick cutbacks and ability to read the defense allowed her to find open pockets and make runs to the 18 for timed tap-in-cribs and take on the defense in 1v1s and 1v2s. She's a top-level player we will be hearing a lot about in the near future. As a captain and leader on her Surf team, she led her team to back-to-back ECNL National Championships in 2025 and 2026. I've recently evaluated her at ECNL Phoenix, where she put on a show playing up in age level. She was a force to be reckoned with, as her size, strength, and techniques shone at both events. At our Prep Soccer Girls ID Camp: SoCal 2026, she demonstrated the ability to quickly apply coaches' feedback from the training sessions and implement it during the 11v11 scrimmage session. She had an awesome goal in which she received the ball in the 18 with a lot of traffic, but she made a few cutbacks to split two defenders before slipping the ball past the goalkeeper. Anne was also recently selected to the ODP Europe All-Star Team for this summer, August 13-15, in Waldmohr, Germany. Playing Against U17 Bundesliga & International-Level Competition. At the speed station, she clearly had one of the fastest timed runs on the day. At the 3v2 stations and small group sessions, she was difficult to get by on defense. Not just based on her 5'9" stature, but also on her ability to quickly cut off running lanes and make calculated stops when runners tried diagonal or overlapping runs in the attacking third. Her strength and power were also visible as she won most 50/50 challenges. Vanessa has had recent success with her [program_tooltip program_id='283395' first='Legends' last='FC'] team, but I believe the best is yet to come. Her first touch gave her the ability to get past players or set her up for a quick cutback or movement into open space. I really liked how she made quick and precise passes. Julienn remained calm and composed under pressure and took feedback well. She had a magical run this season, which resulted in a CIF Southern Section D3 championship as well as an ECNL RL West Regional Championship. Her competitiveness was what really stood out for me. She's definitely a player who will help elevate any team she's on.
