The University of Hawaii, Division 1 program is getting more than a handful of top-level ECNL players from California and Colorado.

USE THE PROMO CODE almasin30 for a discount on your first subscription

Two seasons ago, the University of Hawaii Women's soccer program captured their first-ever Big West regular season championship. They posted an overall record of 12-8-1, while going 8-1-1 in conference play. This past year was more of a sophomore slump, as the team struggled with a conference record of 2-4-4 and an overall 4-8-8 record.

The future looks bright as the Rainbow Wahines are reloading with some top-level ECNL players committed to both the classes of 2026 and 2027. Many of the players I've previously evaluated are at either the club or high school level or both. My most recent evaluations of Cora Bryant, [player_tooltip player_id='206659' first='Avery' last='Edson'], and Parisa Abedi were from the winter 2025-2026 CCS (Central Coast Section) playoffs or NorCal playoffs.

Cora Bryant (2026), as the goalkeeper, and [player_tooltip player_id='206659' first='Avery' last='Edson'] (2027), as the Centerback, led the Los Gatos Wildcats to a CCS Division 1 title. The Wildcats were the SCVAL-De Anza League Champions (11-0-1) and posted an overall record of 19-2-3 after winning the section title and winning a first-round NorCal match before falling to Bishop O'Dowd. This dynamic duo will have to wait another year before reuniting as teammates in the 808 state.

Parisa Abedi and her Los Altos Eagles made a late charge in postseason play, with losses to top-level teams Los Gatos and Archbishop Mitty. She ended her career with 21 goals and 17 assists, with 15 of those goals in her final season. It was great to see Parisa play at such a high level this season. There's no doubt that she is in full form and ready to compete at the Division 1 level.

[player_tooltip player_id='111337' first='Grace' last='Bennett'], the only Colorado player from the bunch, had a great season with the Air Academy Kadets. While her team posted an overall 12-3-1 record, they won the league championship with a 4-0-1 undefeated record. Bennett, a varsity player for all three seasons, has accumulated 45 goals and 25 assists for a total of 115 points. Simply impressive while she has another year to make another run at a league title and push her team further than last season's ranking at 22 for the state of Colorado. Bennett is also a Prep Soccer Rankings Riser.

[player_tooltip player_id='147209' first='Olivia' last='Barajas'], who played for the U17 Mexico National Team Training Camp in Canada for the FTF Top 60 Showcase, continues to show her form as a forward and midfielder. Her high motor and ability to play multiple positions at a high level will provide her with opportunities to compete at some of the highest levels. Olivia is also a Prep Soccer Rankings Riser.

Featured Players:

[player_tooltip player_id='111337' first='Grace' last='Bennett'] - [program_tooltip program_id='283723' first='Real' last='Colorado'] ECNL - Forward - #11 in CO, #6 in Position, and #WL in the Nation - Rankings Riser

[player_tooltip player_id='112212' first='Laney' last='Brucker'] - [program_tooltip program_id='283476' first='Slammers' last='FC'] ECNL - 2027 - Defender - #44 in CA, #19 in Position, and #290 in the Nation - High School:Woodbridge, CA

Cora Bryant - [program_tooltip program_id='278033' first='MVLA' last='ECNL'] - 2026 - Goalkeeper - #82 in CA, #10 in Position - High School: Los Gatos, CA

[player_tooltip player_id='147209' first='Olivia' last='Barajas'] - [program_tooltip program_id='280776' first='Eagles' last='SC'] ECNL - 2027 - Forward/Midfielder - #117 in Ca, #66 in Position - High School: Buena, CA - Rankings Riser

Parisa Abedi - [program_tooltip program_id='283257' first='Bay' last='Area Surf'] ECNL - 2026 - Midfielder/Forward - #158 in CA, #94 in Position - High School: Los Altos, CA

[player_tooltip player_id='206659' first='Avery' last='Edson'] - [program_tooltip program_id='278033' first='MVLA' last='ECNL'] - 2027 - Defender - #164 in CA, #62 in Position - High School: Los Gatos, CA

Player Highlights: Videos

[player_tooltip player_id='111337' first='Grace' last='Bennett']'s Highlights: Real National 09 #2 - ECNL 2024-2025 Highlights

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iihBW8jKlI4

[player_tooltip player_id='112212' first='Laney' last='Brucker']'s Highlights: YouTube

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdYcpiyySAo

Cora Bryant 's Highlights: ECNL MVLA 08- Goalkeeper highlights

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6uD0gMEgeI

[player_tooltip player_id='147209' first='Olivia' last='Barajas']'s Highlights: Soccer 2025 Highlights- passing & Her stellar play in the playoffs and during the CCS (Central Coast Section) Division 1 Championship match helped her team to secure the title in a penalty shootout. Multiple key saves throughout the match carried her team to the penalty round. I counted at least 5 key saves on the day. Cora is great at reading angles of attack, and she can go up high to make aerial saves. She made a huge save that may have pressured the 5th shooter to try to convert, but the shot went wide, and it gave the Wildcats the Division 1 title. I wouldn't be surprised if Cora will be competing for a starting spot in her first year at Manoa.

Parisa Abedi and her Los Altos Eagles made a late charge in post-season play, with losses to top-level teams Los Gatos and Archbishop Mitty. She ended her career with 21 goals and 17 assists, with 15 of those goals in her final season. It was great to see Parisa play at such a high level this season. In a semifinal match against Archbishop Mitty, the Los Altos Forward showed moments of flash and flair. Her dribbling skills are something to see, and the power generated from long-distance shots is quite amazing. There's no doubt that she is in full form and ready to compete at the Division 1 level.
