The 2025-2026 MLS Next season ended in late May, when the MLS Next Cup Playoffs were held in Salt Lake City, Utah.

With that, the only event left in the league's calendar is the 2026 MLS NEXT All-Star Game presented by Allstate, which will be held in Matthews, North Carolina, on July 27.

On Wednesday, the league announced the 44 players selected to appear in the event - they were split into teams 'East' and 'West' and represent 33 different teams in the League.

https://www.instagram.com/p/DZ-fAV3Fqqr/

The state of Texas will have four players in the event - [program_tooltip program_id='283612' first='Austin' last='FC']'s [player_tooltip player_id='210648' first='Clayton' last='Glynn'], [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas']' [player_tooltip player_id='295568' first='Benjamin' last='Flowers'] and [program_tooltip program_id='283657' first='Houston' last='Dynamo']'s [player_tooltip player_id='210666' first='Brogan' last='Fitzsimons'] and [player_tooltip player_id='210655' first='Matthew' last='Arana'].

Here's all you need to know about them:

Ranked eighth in our Class of 2029 Texas State Rankings, Fitzsimons captained the [program_tooltip program_id='283657' first='Houston' last='Dynamo'] U16 team in the last season. A right back, he's an interesting offensive weapon for them, consistently pushing forward down the line and getting to the end line to deliver accurate crosses into the box. Fitzsimons does a good job of combining with his teammates and is also very effective with his runs on and off the ball. He can be a threat in set pieces in different ways - either taking them directly to the goal from close range or using his aerial ability to score off headers. The outside back significantly developed his defensive game this season, improving his positioning and becoming harder to beat 1v1 out wide.

Ranked sixth in the Texas Class of 2028 Rankings, Glynn spent the last season with [program_tooltip program_id='283612' first='Austin' last='FC']'s U16 team, anchoring their backline with consistently strong performances. He had a few different center-back partners throughout their campaign and was very good at adjusting to each of them and keeping his level of play elevated. Even though he's quite physical, much of his defensive solidness comes from his soccer IQ, which helps him always be in the right spot to stop opponents and to anticipate their moves. Glynn is also extremely efficient in possession, standing out as one of the top ball-playing center backs in the league. He's always calm and composed on the ball and finds the best option to move it out of the back almost every time.

The second-best prospect in our Class of 2028 Texas State Rankings, Arana was part of the [program_tooltip program_id='283657' first='Houston' last='Dynamo'] U19 team during part of the season. He had a meteoric rise in the second half of the season, becoming a key player in the club's II team in the MLS Next Pro League, and signed a homegrown contract with the Dynamo, appearing in an MLS match at the start of the season at the age of 15. A technically gifted offensive player, he can operate as an attacking midfielder or on the left wing, bringing a lot of flair and creativity to the attack. Arana's close control and creativity make of him an unpredictable dribbler, but he also thrives with his passing vision and his accuracy when finishing chances.

https://twitter.com/MLSNEXTPRO/status/2051100248928371049?s=20

The top prospect in the Texas Class of 2029 State Rankings, Flowers began the season with [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas']' U16 team and ended it with their U19 team and North Texas SC in the MLS Next Pro League. He's primarily a winger, but one who, besides making plays out wide, likes to step into the box and finish chances. He's very difficult to stop 1v1 because of how creative his dribbling is and how quickly he creates separation from defenders after beating them. Flowers is very instinctual on the ball and is very direct and aggressive with his actions inside and around the penalty box.
