About Brooke

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a quick goalkeeper who leads the team by using my voice. I am very skilled at anticipating through balls and coming off my line swiftly. My shot stopping, leadership, and handling are very advanced.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very coachable and and believe in hard work and continuous improvement. On the field I take my role as the leader of the defense as well as the first step in our ball-control system seriously. I feel that my teammates, especially my defense, listen to me and therefore make it a point to be very vocal in my leadership style.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was valedictorian in my middle school class and had gold honor roll all through middle school. I am part of the Women Of Will organization held at my high school which is an invite only program where female athletes are selected to represent their respective sports.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Being a goalkeeper has helped me develop a leadership role that can help me further in life. My club really emphasizes the role of goalkeepers and their position within our style of play which is to be part of the team and help lead them through playing with our vision of the whole field.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My two older twin sisters are both D1 athletes and I have grown up being "the little sister". While this might have been a struggle in the beginning to be in their shadows, I have used this as motivation to blaze my own trail and become my own person. Fortunately they played different sports (lacrosse and beach volleyball) so it has been a bit easier to make a name for myself in soccer.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that can help me grow both academically and athletically.

Player comparison – Jane Campbell 

This might be a too obvious comparison, but they have a similar build (5’9 v 5’10) and similar technique in diving. I think Volpp is braver off her line. Campbell tracks shots better and a better feel for her positioning in relation to the goal.
