Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Hendrix was with the FC Dallas ECNL G10 team that didn’t make it out of their group in the U16 Division. She had a solid shift in central defense in a 1-0 group phase loss to Solar SC ECNL G11, doing a great job of defending the team’s penalty box. Hendrix stood out with her positioning and managed to clear many crosses, both in the air and on the ground. The center back also showed good defensive instincts, stepping up to intercept passes and block shots on the edge of the box. Hendrix was very reliable with the ball, too, passing it efficiently out of the back and driving it upfield when she had space to advance in front of her.

Hendrix is one of the many defensive options for the FC Dallas U16 team that’s set to play against Charlotte SA, Concorde Fire Platinum and Penn Fusion SA this weekend. An intense and determined defender, she seems to work harder than everybody else when it comes to fighting for possession. Hendrix has excellent defensive instincts and will do whatever it takes to stop opposing attacking plays, demanding a lot from opposing attacking players to make it past her. She keeps them under constant pressure and is relentless, showing great intelligence to attempt defensive plays.

Hendrix’s FC Dallas team was a force in the age group, getting two wins and one tie over the weekend. The team only allowed one goal in three matches and the center back duo formed by her and Daniella Fregoso was extremely solid. I got to watch the team in a 4-0 win over SLSG Green and Hendrix started impressing me even before the start of the match by rolling up her sleeves when most of her teammates were wearing multiple layers and gloves due to the very low temperature. Her toughness continued to show throughout the match as, playing as a left-sided center back, she didn’t allow any space for the attackers on her side, blocking crosses and dispossessing them with great efficiency. Hendrix also did good work in possession, connecting short and long passes at a great rate.

Hendrix was called into the US Soccer Talent ID event in October for this age group so she is already on the radar for US Soccer scouts. The left center back for FC Dallas is a top player. She consistently shows this on game film. She is one of those players who makes a ton of game-deciding actions in every game. She is often the last line of defense for FC Dallas and she makes the right play every time. Hendrix is an excellent defender, team leader, and sharp passer. She offers the traits to be a top center back in this class.
